Fits SVP XTHINN-8363, A-10, Z-10, DC-12Z cameras; replaces OEM part number BL-058.
3.7V, 660mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 2.44Wh for standard shooting sessions on compact digital cameras.
Connector type matches OEM BL-058 pinout; slides into battery compartment with positive contact forward.
Bench test showed clean BMS handshake on first insertion; voltage held steady through discharge cycle.
On first load into the camera body, run one full charge cycle via the camera itself before extended shooting — SVP camera firmware requires this cycle to map battery percentage display accurately to the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SVP XTHINN-8363 / A-10 / Z-10 / DC-12Z — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-058)

This is a 3.7V, 660mAh lithium-ion cell built to the BL-058 specification. It fits the SVP XTHINN-8363, A-10, Z-10, and DC-12Z compact digital cameras. Voltage and connector match the original cell exactly.

  • XTHINN-8363, A-10, Z-10, and DC-12Z compatibility: All four models share the same battery bay geometry, 3.7V nominal rail, and BL-058 connector footprint. The BMS in each body reads cell voltage via the same contact arrangement, so one cell works across the entire group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench and monitored BMS handshake and cutoff behaviour. The protection circuit engaged at expected low-voltage thresholds, and the cell accepted a full charge without thermal event.
  • First-install charge cycle on SVP compact bodies: Insert the cell and charge it fully inside the camera body before your first shoot. Some SVP compact BMS firmware maps the battery-remaining display against a charge profile it builds during that first in-body cycle — skipping it can cause the indicator to read inaccurately from the start.

Dead battery indicator showing on a partially charged BL-058 replacement

SVP compact bodies use a stepped voltage-threshold system to estimate charge level. A new third-party cell's discharge curve can sit slightly outside the voltage points the firmware expects, causing the indicator to drop to zero before the cell is actually empty. This is a calibration issue between the camera's lookup table and the new cell — not a fault with the cell itself. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body to let the BMS recalibrate its threshold mapping.

Camera body displaying "no battery" or refusing to power on with new cell installed

This happens when the camera's BMS authentication check doesn't complete on the first insertion — it's a contact initialisation issue, not a dead cell. Remove the battery, clean the three contact pads on the cell and in the bay with a dry cloth, then reinsert firmly. If the body still won't power on, place the cell in the camera and connect the USB charge cable for 30 seconds before attempting to power on again. That brief charge current is enough to wake a deeply discharged cell above the BMS acceptance threshold of approximately 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SVP XTHINN-8363 battery percentage jumps from 80% straight to 20% with no warning — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The XTHINN-8363 maps its battery indicator against fixed voltage steps, and a new BL-058 cell discharges along a slightly different curve than the original, so the percentage display skips steps instead of counting down smoothly. Run two full charge-discharge cycles entirely inside the camera body and the indicator will track more accurately as the BMS recalibrates to the new cell's curve. After the second cycle, check whether the jumps narrow — most users see them reduce significantly by cycle three.

Flash is firing but taking noticeably longer to recycle between shots on the new BL-058 — what's happening?

Flash recycling speed is directly tied to how fast the capacitor can draw recharge current from the cell. A brand-new lithium-ion cell has slightly higher internal resistance in its first few cycles, which limits peak current delivery and slows capacitor recharge. This is normal break-in behaviour — it is not a permanent limitation of the cell. After three to five full charge cycles, internal resistance drops and recycle time returns to normal; if it doesn't, check that the battery contacts in the bay are clean and making firm contact.

The SVP compact body feels warm during continuous video recording and the battery drains faster than expected — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. Video mode on these SVP compact bodies runs the image sensor, processor, autofocus, and image stabilisation simultaneously — combined draw is significantly higher than in still-photo mode, and the body warming slightly under that load is normal. The 660mAh capacity of the BL-058 is unchanged from the original specification, so video endurance is the same as the factory cell. If warmth seems excessive, check that the ventilation area around the battery bay isn't blocked and that ambient temperature is below 35°C.
