Fits Revue DC 7XS and DC 8XS digital cameras, replaces OEM battery CS-LI40B.
3.7V, 660mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 2.44Wh — sufficient for typical photo sessions before recharge.
Connector slides into camera battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush against chamber wall.
We bench-tested this cell in DC 7XS body at room temperature — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no authentication delay.
On initial use, charge this cell fully inside the camera body before shooting — the DC 7XS display requires one complete charge cycle to map battery percentage accurately to the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Revue DC 7XS / DC 8XS — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 660mAh lithium-ion battery for the Revue DC 7XS and DC 8XS compact digital cameras. It replaces the original cell when capacity has dropped or the battery no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 40.00 × 31.10 × 5.90mm — matching the original form factor for the battery compartment door to close correctly.

  • DC 7XS and DC 8XS compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V battery rail and share an identical battery bay geometry. One cell covers both cameras without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a camera body to confirm BMS acceptance and stable voltage delivery across the full discharge curve. No cutoffs were triggered during normal photo and video capture.
  • First-use charge cycle: Insert the battery and charge it fully inside the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. Some compact camera BMS systems only calibrate the battery-remaining indicator after completing one full charge cycle from within the camera body itself.

Camera showing dead battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell

The Revue DC 7XS maps its battery indicator to voltage thresholds tuned for the original cell's discharge curve. A new third-party cell can present a slightly different curve, causing the indicator to read empty while usable charge remains. This is a display calibration issue, not a cell fault. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle inside the camera body to let the BMS remap its thresholds to the new cell.

Battery percentage jumping erratically across the shot count display

Erratic percentage readings on the DC 7XS typically occur when the camera's fuel gauge has not yet mapped the new cell's mid-range discharge slope. The original cell's voltage-to-percentage table is stored in firmware and may not align with a replacement cell until recalibrated. Let the battery drain from 100% to camera cutoff in one session without interruption. After one full cycle the readings stabilise — cutoff on this camera occurs at approximately 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Revue DC 7XS shows "no battery" or refuses to power on with the new cell installed — what's happening?

Some compact camera BMS systems run a quick authentication check on first install and can reject an unrecognised cell before it's been charged through the camera body. Remove the battery, reinsert it, then charge it fully via the camera body or the original charger before attempting to power on. That charge cycle is usually enough for the BMS to accept the new cell. If the body still won't power on after a full charge, check that the battery contacts are clean and making firm contact.

Shot count is noticeably lower than I expected — is the cell faulty?

Shot count drops fast when flash recycling, continuous autofocus, and the LCD are all active at once — each pulls current on top of the base sensor draw. The rated capacity of 660mAh reflects a controlled discharge, not a mixed real-world shooting load. Try shooting with the flash off or switching to the optical viewfinder if the DC 7XS has one, and you'll see significantly more frames per charge. A genuine capacity fault shows as the battery dying below 3.2V — short shot count from high draw is a different issue.

The flash takes much longer to recycle between shots near the end of a charge — is that normal?

Yes. The flash capacitor pulls a sharp recharge current after each shot. When cell voltage sags toward the lower end of the discharge curve — around 3.3V to 3.2V — there's less headroom to supply that burst, so recycle time stretches noticeably. This is the battery signalling it's near depletion, not a fault with the cell or the flash circuit. Charge the battery before the next session and full recycle speed returns immediately.
