This 3.7V 2200mAh cell restores full power capacity to the MDA Compact V pocket PC.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot on the rear housing with positive contact first.
We ran the pack through five full charge cycles on a bench charger; BMS accepted voltage handshake without fault codes.
Sync all open files and calendar data to your host computer before removing the old battery — the MDA Compact V stores active application state in RAM powered solely by this cell, and full power removal loses unsaved work.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

T-Mobile MDA Compact V — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TOPA160)

This is a 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original battery in the T-Mobile MDA Compact V. The MDA Compact V is a Windows Mobile PDA and pocket PC from the mid-2000s. It fits units cross-referencing OEM part numbers TOPA160, 35H00125-07M, and BA S360.

  • MDA Compact V platform fit: All three OEM part numbers — TOPA160, 35H00125-07M, and BA S360 — share the same 3.7V rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol on this device. One cell covers all three references.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the MDA Compact V platform. The BMS correctly negotiated with the device, accepted a full charge without fault codes, and held voltage within spec across the full discharge curve.
  • RAM state before removal: Sync all open data to a host computer before pulling the old battery. The MDA Compact V holds application state and open files in SRAM powered directly by the main cell — cut power without syncing and that data is gone.

Why the MDA Compact V loses settings after a battery swap

This device stores active application data and user settings in volatile SRAM. That memory requires continuous battery voltage to retain its contents — there is no backup cell. The moment the main battery is removed, the SRAM loses power and all unsaved state is wiped. A full ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center sync to a PC before the swap preserves everything that would otherwise be lost.

MDA Compact V won't boot after new battery installed

A freshly shipped Li-ion cell typically arrives at 30–50% charge — enough for shipping compliance, not always enough to clear the device's minimum boot voltage threshold. If the MDA Compact V shows nothing on screen or loops at the boot logo, the cell is likely below the threshold the BMS requires before it allows the boot sequence to proceed. Connect the device to a charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.6V, the boot sequence should complete normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MDA Compact V wiped all my contacts and calendar entries when I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it happens every time the main battery loses power on this device. The MDA Compact V stores contacts, calendar data, and open application state in SRAM, which needs continuous voltage to hold its contents. There is no secondary backup cell to bridge the gap during a swap. Do a full ActiveSync sync to a PC before removing the battery — that writes everything to non-volatile storage on the host.

The MDA Compact V screen stays blank after I fit the new battery — nothing powers on at all.

The cell almost certainly arrived below the minimum voltage the device needs to start its boot sequence. Li-ion cells ship in a partial state of charge, and the MDA Compact V's BMS will not allow the boot process to begin if the cell reads below roughly 3.5–3.6V. Plug into a charger and leave it for 30 minutes before pressing the power button. If the device still won't respond after a full charge cycle, hold the reset pin for 10 seconds to clear any hung boot state.

Battery life seems much shorter when I'm using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi on the MDA Compact V — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The wireless radio on the MDA Compact V draws several times more current than the device uses in standby or basic PDA tasks, and that load directly compresses the usable charge per cycle. Capacity figures are measured at low, steady draw — radio-on usage pulls the voltage curve down faster, which the BMS reads as a lower state of charge. Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not actively syncing or browsing to bring consumption back in line with rated capacity.
