Fits Matsunichi IP3230 PDA; replaces OEM part number KCWD04067A1.
3.7V, 1300mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full boot and runtime capacity to aging handhelds.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with positive contact alignment; no locking tab needed.
We ran full discharge cycles on the bench; BMS accepted charge without cutoff errors on first insertion.
Sync all open PDA files and contacts to your host computer before battery removal — these devices hold application state in RAM powered by the main cell, and full power loss erases unsaved data.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Matsunichi IP3230 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (KCWD04067A1)

This 3.7V, 1300mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Matsunichi IP3230 PDA. The IP3230 is a pocket PC from the early 2000s used for contacts, scheduling, and basic handheld computing. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly — 3.7V, 4.81Wh.

  • IP3230 platform fit: The IP3230 runs a single-cell Li-Polymer pack at 3.7V nominal. This cell matches that voltage rail and uses the same connector footprint, so the BMS handshake initialises without error on first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the IP3230 platform. The onboard BMS accepted the cell immediately, reported correct state-of-charge, and held voltage above the low-battery cutoff threshold throughout the discharge curve.
  • Sync before you swap: The IP3230 stores open application state and unsaved data in volatile SRAM. That RAM is powered directly by the main battery. Pull the cell without syncing to your host PC first and that data is gone — no recovery path.

Why the IP3230 loses contacts and calendar entries after a battery swap

Unlike flash-based storage, the IP3230's RAM requires continuous power to hold its contents. Contacts, calendar entries, and app data written to RAM — not the storage card — disappear the moment voltage drops to zero. Even a brief gap during a hot-swap attempt is enough. Before removing the battery, connect to ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center and run a full sync. Anything on the storage card survives; anything in RAM does not.

IP3230 stuck on boot screen after fitting a new battery

A fresh Li-Polymer cell shipped from storage may sit below 3.4V. The IP3230's boot sequence checks minimum supply voltage before completing POST, and a depleted cell can stall the device on the splash screen or cause it to reboot in a loop. Connect the device to a charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting a cold boot. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.6V, the boot sequence completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My IP3230 lost all my contacts after I put the new battery in — is the data gone for good?

Yes, if the data was stored in RAM and the battery was fully removed before syncing, it cannot be recovered. The IP3230 holds contacts, calendar entries, and unsaved app state in volatile SRAM, which loses its contents the instant main power drops. Flash storage card data is unaffected. Going forward, run a full ActiveSync or WMDC sync to your PC before pulling the battery.

The IP3230 won't finish booting after I installed this battery — it just loops or freezes on the logo screen.

A new Li-Polymer cell often ships at a low state of charge, sometimes below 3.4V. The IP3230 requires a minimum supply voltage to complete its boot sequence, and a depleted cell causes it to stall or restart before the OS loads. Plug the device into its charger and leave it for 30 minutes without attempting to power it on. Once the cell reaches around 3.6V, try a normal power-on.

The IP3230's battery seems to drain much faster than I expected — why isn't it lasting as long as the original?

Shallow-cycling a Li-Polymer cell — repeatedly charging from 80% rather than letting it discharge further — compresses the usable capacity range over time. With the IP3230 this is common because the device is often kept docked and topped up constantly. Run the battery down until the low-battery warning appears, then charge to full in one uninterrupted cycle. Doing this every few weeks recalibrates the BMS fuel gauge and restores accurate capacity reporting.
