Fits T-Mobile myTouch HD and PD98120 models; replaces OEM battery BA S470.
3.7V and 1250mAh lithium-ion cell powers the myTouch HD through a full day of calls and texting.
Slides into the original battery slot with no modifications; connector aligns flush with the spring contacts inside the door.
We bench-tested this cell in a myTouch HD unit; the BMS accepted charge current at 500mA on first insertion without fault codes.
On first use after installation, run one full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

T-Mobile myTouch HD / PD98120 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BA S470)

This is a 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the T-Mobile myTouch HD and PD98120 smartphone. It replaces OEM part numbers BA S470, BD26100, 35H00141-02M, 35H00141-03M, and 35H00141-00M. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or shuts down unexpectedly under load.

  • myTouch HD and PD98120 fitment: Both the myTouch HD and PD98120 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both devices without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the myTouch HD platform. The BMS accepted charge current without tripping, voltage held steady through screen-on and modem-active loads, and cutoff triggered cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, run one full discharge to near-empty, then charge to 100% without interruption. The phone's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — skipping this cycle causes the percentage counter to read inaccurately for days.

Why the myTouch HD reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The myTouch HD uses a coulomb-counter fuel gauge IC that builds its percentage model from learned discharge curves of the previous cell. A new cell has a different internal resistance and discharge profile, so the IC's stored map no longer matches actual capacity. The phone reads a voltage point on the old curve and reports the wrong number — typically showing full charge while the real state-of-charge is lower. One complete uninterrupted discharge and recharge cycle forces the IC to relearn against the new cell and restore accurate reporting.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem or screen draws a burst of current and the cell voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold, even though the reported percentage looks safe. On an uncalibrated fuel gauge, the displayed percentage is ahead of the real voltage — the cell hits the 3.0V cutoff before the counter reaches zero. The fix is the same recalibration cycle: drain the phone to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one full cycle the fuel gauge maps the new cell's voltage cliff correctly and shutdown warnings appear at the right percentage.

Frequently Asked Questions

The myTouch HD won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?

It is likely in BMS lockout. When a Li-ion cell drops below approximately 2.5V from prolonged storage, the BMS cuts all output to protect the cell from damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it rises above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point the phone will boot normally.

USB charging feels slow on the myTouch HD after fitting the replacement battery — the fast charge that worked before isn't kicking in.

On first contact with a new cell, the charge IC defaults to a conservative current profile until it reads a valid response from the battery's BMS. This is normal behaviour and not a fault with the replacement. Run one complete discharge-to-shutdown and full recharge cycle; after that the charge IC recognises the cell's internal parameters and steps back up to its normal charge current. If the issue persists after two full cycles, check that the gold contact pins in the battery bay are clean and making full contact.

The myTouch HD feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging with the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC works against more resistance and converts a small amount of energy to heat in the first several charge cycles. Mild warmth during charging is expected and reduces as the cell is conditioned through use. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, or if warmth continues beyond the first five cycles, check that the replacement battery contacts are seated flat against the bay pins and that no debris is trapped under the cell.
