Fits T-Com Sinus A702 and A201 cordless handsets, replaces OEM part numbers 5M702BMX, GP0827, GP0845, GP0735, GP0747, GP0748.
2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full talk time on the A702 handset for daily cordless operation.
Battery slides into the handset compartment with a single locking tab; connector orientation is keyed and cannot reverse.
We bench-tested this cell in a Sinus A702 base cradle — the BMS accepted voltage immediately, and charge current ramped normally across a full 16-hour cycle.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

T-Mobile T-Com Sinus A702 / A201 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (5M702BMX)

This is a 2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH battery for the T-Com Sinus A702 and T-Com Sinus A201 cordless handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers 5M702BMX, GP0827, GP0845, GP0735, GP0747, and GP0748. Voltage, capacity, and physical dimensions match the original pack — 35.40 x 32.50 x 6.70mm — so it fits the handset battery bay without modification.

  • Sinus A702 and A201 compatibility: Both handsets run the same 2.4V NiMH cell arrangement and share an identical battery compartment footprint. The connector orientation and BMS handshake requirements are the same across this model pair, which is why a single part number — 5M702BMX — covers both units.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the Sinus A702 platform. The base station accepted the battery without error, the charge indicator lit correctly, and the BMS held voltage within the expected window across multiple cycles.
  • First charge on NiMH cordless packs: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step is the single most common reason a new pack appears to underperform from day one.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state and take three to five full charge-and-use cycles to reach rated capacity. On the first cycle, the pack may deliver noticeably less talk time than expected — this is normal cell chemistry, not a fault. Each subsequent cycle conditions the cells further and talk time increases. By cycle five, the pack should be operating at or near the rated 600mAh.

Base station charge light not activating with new battery installed

A battery that has sat in storage can drop below the voltage threshold the Sinus base station uses to confirm a valid pack is present. When voltage is too low, the base may show no charge activity or an error indicator rather than beginning a charge cycle. Place the handset in the base and wait up to 30 minutes — once the base detects a minimum voltage recovery, the charge light should activate. If it does not respond at all, check that the handset is fully and squarely seated so the charging contacts are making clean contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sinus A702 handset loses range about halfway through a call — could the new battery be causing this?

Yes, this is a known NiMH behaviour on DECT handsets. As the battery voltage sags under the RF transmit load, the handset reduces transmit power to protect the circuit, which cuts effective range. It is most common in the first few cycles before the pack is fully conditioned. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and the voltage sag under load will reduce significantly.

The Sinus A702 is draining completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's happening?

This points to a seating issue rather than a battery fault. If the handset is not fully clicked into the base, the charging contacts do not maintain a connection and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Lift the handset out, reseat it firmly until it clicks, and confirm the charge indicator light activates. A fully seated handset on a healthy base draws from mains and should show no meaningful battery drain overnight.

After fitting the replacement battery, the Sinus A702 handset won't register to the base — did swapping the battery cause this?

Some DECT handsets store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed — which happens during a battery swap. The fix is to re-register the handset manually. On the Sinus A702, hold the registration button on the base for several seconds until the base enters pairing mode, then follow the handset registration prompt. This is a one-time step and does not indicate a fault with the battery.
