Fits Telekom Sinus A201 cordless phone handset with standard two-pin connector interface.
2.4V 600mAh Ni-MH cell delivers full talk time and standby runtime on this DECT handset model.
Two-pin connector seats vertically into handset battery slot; polarity marked on housing; no locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell in a Sinus A201 base unit — BMS accepted the pack on first insert, charge light engaged within 30 seconds.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telekom Sinus A201 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH pack replaces the original handset battery in the Telekom Sinus A201 cordless phone. It restores talk time and standby function when the factory cell has degraded and no longer holds a charge. Voltage and cell chemistry match the original spec exactly.

  • Sinus A201 handset fit: The Sinus A201 uses a compact two-cell Ni-MH configuration at 2.4V. This pack matches that cell count, connector orientation, and physical footprint — 35.40 x 32.50 x 6.70mm — so it seats correctly in the handset battery compartment.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH test rig. The BMS accepted charge from a standard DECT base station without fault, and the cell voltage held stable through the full discharge curve without early cutoff.
  • First-charge conditioning on DECT base stations: After installing this pack, place the Sinus A201 handset in the base cradle and leave it for a full 16 hours before use. Ni-MH cells shipped in storage state sit below peak capacity — a slow first charge through the base lets them reach rated 600mAh before you start cycling them.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells do not deliver full capacity on the first charge cycle. The Sinus A201 base station charges at a trickle rate, so capacity builds across the first three to five full charge-discharge cycles. Pulling the handset off the base after a few hours and using it heavily before the cells have conditioned will produce short talk time. Run three complete cycles — full charge, full use until low battery, then full recharge — and capacity will climb to the rated 600mAh.

Base station charge indicator not lighting after fitting new pack

Ni-MH packs stored for extended periods can drop to a voltage the Sinus A201 base station reads as a fault rather than a dischargeable cell. The base station's charge circuit expects to see a minimum terminal voltage before it enables the charge rail. If the indicator stays off or shows an error after you seat the handset, remove the handset, wait ten seconds, and reseat it firmly — this resets the charge detection cycle. If the indicator still does not light, check that the handset is fully seated and the base contacts are clean; the charge circuit re-polls at seating and should begin charging once terminal voltage is above approximately 1.8V total.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sinus A201 loses range halfway through a call after fitting the new battery — is something wrong with the pack?

This is a voltage-sag issue, not a faulty pack. Ni-MH cells that haven't been fully conditioned drop voltage under the RF transmit load the handset draws during a call, and the DECT radio reduces transmit power when voltage sags. Run three full charge-discharge cycles through the base station first. After conditioning, the pack holds voltage more firmly under load and range stabilises.

The Sinus A201 handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — did the swap break something?

Some DECT handsets lose their pairing data when power is fully interrupted, which happens every time the battery is removed. The swap itself didn't damage anything. Re-register the handset to the base following the pairing procedure in the Sinus A201 manual — typically holding the registration button on the base for a few seconds while initiating pairing from the handset menu.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

If the handset is not fully seated, the base charge contacts don't make a clean connection and the handset runs entirely off the battery rather than drawing from the base. Lift the handset, wipe the metal charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset with firm downward pressure until you feel or hear it click into the cradle. Check that the charge indicator on the base lights after reseating.
