Fits T-Mobile Tap and Pulse Mini smartphones; replaces OEM HB5A2H and BTR7519 battery packs.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 1100mAh stores 4.07Wh—enough capacity to restore a full day of calls and messaging on the Tap.
Connector seats into the battery slot with a single locking tab; verify the clip engages fully before closing the rear cover.
We bench-tested this cell on a Tap platform and confirmed the fuel gauge IC accepted the new pack without reporting false percentage values.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without enabling fast charging—this lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

T-Mobile Tap / Pulse Mini — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HB5A2H)

This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell that fits the T-Mobile Tap and Pulse Mini smartphones. It replaces the original HB5A2H or BTR7519 battery when the existing cell can no longer hold a usable charge. Dimensions are 54.05 × 34.10 × 5.40mm — verify these against your current cell before installing.

  • Tap and Pulse Mini compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The HB5A2H and BTR7519 part numbers reference the same physical cell form factor, so one replacement covers both devices.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination at 4.2V and engaged protection cutoff under simulated load at low state-of-charge — no anomalous heat, no swelling.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, complete one full discharge-to-charge cycle with fast charging disabled. This lets the phone's fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging runs into an uncalibrated state-of-charge register.

Why the Tap reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC in the Tap stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The phone reads voltage and maps it against the old curve, producing percentage figures that are too high or too low. One full discharge and charge cycle — without interruption — forces the IC to relearn the curve against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% charge remaining

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem's or display's minimum operating threshold under load, even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. A fresh cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC is especially prone to this — the reported percentage is optimistic relative to actual cell voltage. The fix is the same recalibration cycle: run the battery down to automatic cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one full cycle, the IC adjusts its cutoff estimate and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone died in a drawer for months and now won't turn on — is the battery dead?

Likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out the cell after voltage dropped below 2.5V per cell during storage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout and allow normal boot. If the phone still shows nothing after 30 minutes on the wall charger, try a different cable and adapter to rule out a current-limited source.

Fast charging stopped working after I put in the replacement battery — is something broken?

Nothing is broken. On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC sometimes defaults to standard charge current because the new BMS hasn't completed a handshake with the proprietary charge protocol. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, let the phone drain down, then plug in again — fast charge typically re-enables on the second cycle once the IC has confirmed cell impedance is within acceptable range.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — 60%, then suddenly 45%, then back to 55%

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve after it was mapped to the old, degraded cell. The coulomb counter is interpolating between voltage samples that don't yet match its stored model, so the displayed percentage swings. Run one complete uninterrupted discharge from 100% down to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% in a single session. After that cycle, the gauge stabilises against the actual capacity of the new 1100mAh cell.
