Fits TCL A990, C990, A919, A966 and replaces OEM battery part numbers CAB31P0000C1, CAB31P0001C1, TB-4T0058200.
This cell runs 3.7V at 1300mAh — enough capacity to power the A990's modem, screen, and processor through a full day of typical use.
Connector slides straight into the factory slot with a single locking tab on the left side; no adapters needed.
We bench-tested this pack on a TCL A990 fuel gauge IC; the BMS accepted the charge handshake and held voltage under sustained load without sag.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging runs.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TCL A990 / C990 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB31P0000C1)

This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original battery in the TCL A990, C990, A919, and A966 smartphones. It matches the OEM part numbers CAB31P0000C1, CAB31P0001C1, and TB-4T0058200. Physical dimensions are 64.30 × 49.50 × 4.50mm — verify against your existing cell before installation.

  • A990 / C990 / A919 / A966 platform fit: These models share a common PCB layout and battery connector pinout. The BMS handshake uses the same voltage thresholds across the series, so one cell covers all listed variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the A990 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and low-voltage cutoff engaged at the expected floor.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before enabling it again. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated register.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still references the old cell's discharge curve. When the new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or screen load, the phone shuts down even though the reported percentage looks safe. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge cycle — drain to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter re-anchors to the new cell's actual capacity and the shutdowns stop.

Phone won't power on after the battery sat discharged in storage

If the cell voltage dropped below roughly 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage. Plugging in USB at that point may show no response for several minutes — this is normal. Leave it connected to a wall charger, not a PC port, for at least 20–30 minutes. Once the BMS sees enough voltage to exit lockout, it will begin accepting charge current and the screen will respond.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TCL A990 shows 25% battery and just switches off — is the replacement cell faulty?

This is a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The IC is still using the discharge curve from your old battery, so when the new cell's voltage drops sharply under modem or display load, the phone cuts out before the percentage reaches zero. Run one full uninterrupted cycle — drain until the phone shuts itself off, then charge to 100% in one go. After that cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the early shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped in the new battery — USB charging is working but it's slow.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC often defaults to standard current while it validates the new cell's BMS response. This is normal behaviour — the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake can take one full charge cycle to re-establish. Complete one full charge to 100% at the slower rate, then disconnect and reconnect. Fast charging should resume on the second connection once the BMS has confirmed cell parameters.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — it went from 60% to 40% in two minutes without heavy use.

The fuel gauge IC recalibrates against a new cell's impedance curve over the first few cycles, and until it settles, the percentage readings can jump. This is a software-side issue with how the coulomb counter tracks the new cell, not a sign the cell itself is defective. Let the phone complete two or three full discharge-to-full-charge cycles without interruption. The readings stabilise once the IC has enough data points to build an accurate state-of-charge map for the replacement cell.
