Fits ZTE Z768G, Z992, Z993, and Prelude series smartphones; replaces OEM part Li3715T42P3h504857.
Output voltage 3.7V at 1200mAh capacity delivers sufficient charge for talk time and messaging on this compact handset.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive terminal facing outward; no locking tab engagement needed.
We bench-tested this cell on a Z768G unit; the BMS accepted the pack without cutoff faults, and voltage held steady under idle discharge.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE Z768G / Z992 / Z993 Prelude — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li3715T42P3h504857)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell built to replace the original battery in the ZTE Z768G, Z992, Z993, and Prelude smartphones. It fits the same physical pocket and connector as the factory cell. Voltage and capacity figures match the OEM specification exactly.

  • Z768G, Z992, Z993, and Prelude compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions (49.00 × 47.80 × 5.50 mm), the same 3.7V nominal voltage rail, and the same connector pinout. One cell covers all of them without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a Z992 unit. The BMS accepted the charge handshake without error on the first connect, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated reference.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Z768G after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. The new cell hits a steeper voltage drop under modem or screen load than the IC expects, and the phone interprets that voltage cliff as a critically low state of charge. The OS shuts down before the cell is actually empty. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate retrains the coulomb counter and eliminates the premature cutoff.

Phone will not power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. The phone will show no sign of life even on charger. Connect the device to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes. The charge IC will trickle current past the BMS lockout threshold, and the phone should respond once the cell reaches roughly 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ZTE Z992 percentage is jumping around erratically after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve, and until it completes that process, the reported percentage is unreliable. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate — no fast charge. After that single cycle, the percentage readout stabilises.

My Prelude feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — should I stop charging it?

Mild warmth on the first few charge cycles is expected. A new cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a conditioned one, and the charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, generating more heat than usual. It settles after two or three cycles as the cell conditions. If the back of the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, disconnect and let it cool to room temperature before resuming — that rules out a charge IC fault rather than normal break-in heat.

Fast charging stopped working on my Z768G the moment I installed the replacement cell — it only trickle charges now.

The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge protocol requires a successful BMS handshake before the charger steps up current. On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge controllers default to standard rate until the BMS completes its initialisation sequence. Discharge the phone to automatic shutdown and charge it fully once at standard rate. On the second cycle, reconnect your fast charger — the handshake succeeds after the BMS has completed one full reference cycle.
