Fits TCL S950 and S950T smartphones; replaces OEM battery CS-OT604XL.
3.8V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full charge capacity on aged devices.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with no locking tab interference.
Bench testing showed stable voltage ramp and BMS acceptance on first charge cycle.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TCL S950 / S950T — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.8V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the TCL S950 and S950T smartphones. It measures 73.75 × 55.46 × 3.52mm — match those dimensions against your existing cell before fitting. Capacity is 7.6Wh at the rated voltage.

  • S950 and S950T compatibility: Both variants run the same battery bay dimensions and voltage rail, so they share this cell. The connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol are identical across both model codes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full discharge on the S950 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without lockout, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes load into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. Under peak modem or display load, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects based on the old cell's discharge curve. The phone's low-voltage protection trips before the percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge to 0% and a full charge to 100% without interruption — this resets the coulomb counter and gives the IC an accurate baseline. After one complete cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.

Phone not powering on after the battery sat in storage

Lithium-polymer cells in storage self-discharge slowly. If the cell drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout and blocks normal charging to prevent thermal runaway on a deeply discharged cell. Plugging into a standard charger shows nothing — no charging indicator, no boot. Connect to a 5V USB charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.8V, at which point normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TCL S950 keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the replacement?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC in the S950 is still using the discharge curve it mapped to the old battery, so it misjudges when voltage will cliff under modem or screen load. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to 0% followed by a full charge to 100% — after that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.

The S950 is showing erratic percentages — jumping from 60% down to 40% and back — since I swapped the battery.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The IC lost its reference point when the old cell was removed and it has no accurate data on the new cell's discharge curve yet. Let the phone discharge completely until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the charger early. One complete cycle is usually enough for the IC to stabilise its readings.

Fast charging stopped working on my S950 after the battery replacement — it only charges slowly now.

The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake between the charge IC and the new cell's BMS often fails on the first charge cycle after a swap. The charge IC defaults to standard 5V/1A as a safety fallback when it cannot verify the new cell's state. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — on the second cycle the handshake typically completes and fast charging re-engages.
