Fits ZTE Blade VEC 4G and Rono models, replacing the original 3.8V lithium-polymer cell.
3.8V at 2300mAh delivers 8.74Wh — matches OEM capacity for full-day operation on calls, messaging, and apps.
Connector seats flush into the stock battery slot with standard ZTE locking tab orientation confirmed on hardware.
We cycled the cell on a Blade VEC 4G bench unit; BMS accepted charge at 1000mA and held voltage stable under moderate load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging runs.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Original Blade VEC 4G / Rono — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This is a 3.8V, 2300mAh Li-Polymer cell for the ZTE Blade VEC 4G and Rono smartphones. It replaces the original internal battery when capacity has dropped or the cell no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 104.91 × 42.35 × 4.55mm — confirm clearance before fitting.

  • Blade VEC 4G and Rono compatibility: Both devices run the same battery bay dimensions and voltage rail. The connector pinout, BMS handshake protocol, and charge termination voltage are identical across the two models, so one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Blade VEC 4G platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake cleanly, hit full termination voltage without error flags, and sustained voltage under display and modem load without dropping below the protection threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging runs into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Blade VEC 4G after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks brightness, current draw spikes sharply. A new cell that hasn't been calibrated to the fuel gauge IC can't communicate its true state-of-charge, so the phone sees a voltage dip and interprets it as empty. The fix is one full discharge-to-cutoff and uninterrupted charge cycle without fast charging enabled. After that cycle, the coulomb counter has a real baseline and the shutdowns stop.

Phone warm near the battery during the first charge after replacement

A freshly installed Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that's been through several cycles. The charge IC pushes current into that resistance, and some of that energy converts to heat rather than stored charge. This is normal for the first one or two cycles and settles as impedance drops. If the device is still noticeably warm after three full charge cycles, check that the charge IC hasn't defaulted to a fast-charge profile — keep it at standard charge rates until the cell is broken in.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Blade VEC 4G shows 25% battery and then just shuts off — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. This is a fuel gauge IC mismatch — the phone's coulomb counter is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the voltage cliff on the new cell and triggers an emergency shutdown. Run one complete discharge down to automatic cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that cycle, the fuel gauge recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically after I fitted the replacement — 60% one minute, 45% the next.

The fuel gauge IC on the Blade VEC 4G uses a learned discharge curve from the previous cell. When you fit a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual chemistry, so percentage readings oscillate as the counter tries to reconcile measured voltage against a stale model. One full discharge-charge cycle without interruption resets the learned curve. After that cycle, readings stabilise — target a resting voltage of around 3.85V at reported 50% as a quick sanity check.

Fast charging stopped working on my Blade VEC 4G after I swapped the battery — it only slow charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the Blade VEC 4G sometimes defaults to standard charge rates because the BMS on the new cell hasn't completed its initialisation handshake with the phone's power management IC. Charge the phone fully at the slow rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. In most cases the fast-charge protocol re-negotiates on the second connection once the BMS has logged one complete cycle.
