Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TechniSat Stereo ISI 2 / STEREOMAN ISI Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 350mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the internal battery in the TechniSat Stereo ISI 2, STEREOMAN ISI 2, and STEREOMAN ISI 3 wireless headsets. It powers both the audio output stage and the DECT radio simultaneously. When the original cell degrades, swapping this in restores full wireless operation without replacing the whole headset.
- Stereo ISI 2 / STEREOMAN ISI 2 and ISI 3 fit: These three models share the same 3.7V cell footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol with the base station. One cell covers all three variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through full charge cycles on the base station and confirmed the BMS completed its handshake correctly — the base station registered the new pack and the charge indicator behaved as expected.
- First-cycle base station protocol: Seat the headset in the base station and run a complete uninterrupted charge cycle before making any calls. DECT headsets log the new cell during this first cycle — skip it and the talk-time indicator will read incorrectly for several uses.
Base station not recognising the new pack after a battery swap
The STEREOMAN ISI base station uses a BMS handshake to register cell capacity before it begins active charging. If the headset is removed from the base before that handshake completes, the station may continue showing a fault or refuse to charge. The cell arrives at storage voltage — roughly 3.6–3.7V — which is within operating range but not enough for the base to log it as a fresh pack. Leave the headset seated in the base undisturbed for the full first charge cycle, and the recognition error clears on its own.
Headset cutting out mid-call on a freshly installed battery
The ISI series combines audio decoding and a DECT radio in a compact housing — both drawing from the same 350mAh cell simultaneously. During a call, this combined load can pull the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold if the cell has not yet completed its first few conditioning cycles. The BMS interprets the voltage sag as a low-battery event and shuts the headset down even when the charge indicator shows capacity remaining. Running three to five full charge-and-use cycles brings the cell to rated delivery voltage and resolves the cutoff behaviour.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my STEREOMAN ISI 3 headset go silent mid-call even though the base station showed it as fully charged?
The combined draw of the DECT radio and audio stage during a call pulls cell voltage down faster than the base station's charge indicator predicts — especially on a new cell that hasn't been conditioned yet. The BMS cuts power when voltage sags below its threshold, which it reads as empty even with capacity remaining on the indicator. This settles after three to five full charge-and-use cycles as the cell reaches its rated output voltage under load. Run those cycles with the headset seated in the base between each use and the mid-call cutout stops.
The base station is showing a charging error after I fitted the new battery — what's wrong?
The base station requires an uninterrupted first charge cycle to complete its BMS handshake with the new cell. If the headset was removed from the cradle before that cycle finished, the base logs an incomplete registration and throws an error. Seat the headset back in the base, leave it undisturbed until the charge indicator shows full, and the error clears. Do not lift the headset during this cycle — even briefly breaking contact resets the handshake.
My headset feels noticeably warm during long calls after fitting the replacement cell — is that normal?
The ISI series housing is small, and the cell is sustaining simultaneous DECT radio and audio output draw throughout the call. Some warmth is expected under that combined load in an enclosed shell. It becomes a concern if the headset gets hot enough to be uncomfortable to wear — that points to a prolonged high-draw session draining the 350mAh cell hard. Keep calls under the rated talk time for the first few cycles, and if warmth persists beyond that, check that the base station completed the full first-cycle handshake at 3.7V before the headset was put into use.
