Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tefal TY99F1 / TY99G1 Series — 32.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GS_20_20_001495)
This 32.4V, 2000mAh (64.8Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Tefal TY99F1, TY99G1, TY99F1HO/4Q0, TY99F1HO/4Q2, and related cordless stick vacuum models. It slots into the same battery bay and connects via the original dock or inline charger. When the factory pack degrades and suction drops off mid-clean, this restores the motor to full operating voltage.
- TY99F1 and TY99G1 platform fit: These models share the same 32.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A replacement cell that matches those parameters will be recognised by the vacuum's power management circuit without any pairing procedure.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Tefal charging circuit and ran it under motor load. The BMS responded correctly to both charge termination and high-draw cutoff thresholds — no false trips on hard floor or carpet mode.
- Dock charging on the TY99 series: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock charge on this series causes capacity fade significantly faster than intermittent charging. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On the TY99 series, suction loss often happens at the motor, not the battery. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated to maintain airflow. That elevated draw causes voltage sag on the battery pack — the BMS reads it as a near-depleted cell and throttles output, even when the indicator shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first before assuming the battery is the cause. If sag continues with a clean filter, the cell itself is likely below usable capacity.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then comes back after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When suction is restricted — by a blockage, a clogged filter, or heavy carpet pile — the motor pulls current above the BMS cutoff threshold and the pack shuts output to protect the cells. The few-second recovery is the BMS resetting after current demand drops. Clear any blockage, remove and tap out the filter, then restart. If trips continue on a clean machine, check the cell voltage under load — a degraded pack that sags below 28V at motor start will trip the BMS on every use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Tefal TY99F1 loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows full — what's happening?
A restricted filter is the most likely cause. When airflow is blocked, the motor draws above its rated current, which causes the battery pack to sag under load — the BMS reads that sag as low voltage and reduces power to the motor, even though the indicator still shows charge. Remove and clean the filter, then run the vacuum again. If suction still drops with a clean filter, the pack voltage is sagging under load — check that the replacement cell holds above 30V during operation.
The TY99G1 motor keeps cutting out for a few seconds and then restarting — is the battery faulty or is it something else?
That cut-and-recover pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip. The battery's protection circuit shuts output when current demand spikes above its threshold — usually caused by a partial blockage or a clogged filter forcing the motor to work harder. Clear any blockage and clean the filter before replacing the battery. If trips continue on a fully clear machine, the cell is likely degraded and sagging below 28V at motor start, which triggers the cutoff on every hard pull.
The original TY99F1 battery used to last a full clean but now dies after a short time — can dock charging cause this?
Yes. Leaving the TY99 series on its charging dock continuously applies a low-level trickle charge that degrades cell capacity over time. Lithium-ion cells in this voltage class are not designed to sit at full charge indefinitely — it accelerates the chemical ageing inside each cell. Once you fit a replacement pack, charge it fully and then remove the vacuum from the dock. Store it off the dock and only return it when the charge level is genuinely low.
