Fits Telekom Speedbox LTE mini and LTE+ mini hotspots, replaces OEM part HB5P1H.
3.7V 3000mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers the full 11.1Wh needed for extended mobile internet sessions.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left side.
We charged this cell on a standard hotspot charger and confirmed the BMS accepted input without fault codes or thermal event.
On first use with the LTE+ mini, keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated location during extended sessions — the cellular radio draws maximum power in weak signal areas, generating heat that stresses the battery pack.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telekom Speedbox LTE mini / LTE+ mini — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB5P1H)

This 3.7V 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the HB5P1H cell in the Telekom Speedbox LTE mini and Speedbox LTE+ mini mobile hotspots. Both devices share the same battery bay dimensions and connector, making this a single part for either unit. Capacity is 3000mAh (11.1Wh), matching the original specification.

  • Speedbox LTE mini and LTE+ mini compatibility: Both models use the same 3.7V battery rail, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — the hardware difference between the two is in the modem module, not the power circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through charge and discharge cycles on a Speedbox LTE mini unit. The BMS engaged correctly at full load with four active client devices connected, and low-voltage cutoff triggered at the expected threshold without hard-locking the device.
  • Cellular signal and battery load: When the hotspot operates in a weak signal area, the LTE modem increases transmit power to maintain the connection. Keep the device in a location with reasonable signal strength — running at maximum transmit power continuously generates heat that accelerates cell wear.

Why the Speedbox LTE mini drops connected devices mid-session

The Speedbox LTE mini runs two power-hungry subsystems simultaneously: the LTE modem and the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi radio. When multiple clients are active and signal quality is poor, combined current draw spikes sharply. A degraded original battery cannot sustain that draw without voltage sagging below the BMS protection floor. The BMS then cuts power to protect the cell, which the device registers as a shutdown rather than a crash — clients lose connection instantly.

Hotspot shows charged but won't boot after sitting unused for weeks

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per month under normal storage conditions, but a battery that was already partially depleted before storage can drop below minimum boot voltage. The Speedbox LTE mini requires approximately 3.0V at the cell to initiate startup. If the battery reads below that, the device will not respond to the power button at all. Connect the hotspot to a charger for at least 20–30 minutes before attempting to power it on — this brings the cell voltage back above the boot threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Speedbox LTE mini keeps disconnecting everyone connected to it, but the battery shows as charged — what's causing this?

A battery that reads as charged but can't sustain load is the most common cause. Under combined LTE modem and Wi-Fi draw with multiple clients active, a worn cell sags in voltage even from a full charge state. The BMS interprets that voltage drop as a fault and cuts the output, which drops all connected devices instantly. Fitting a new 3000mAh HB5P1H cell eliminates the sag if the cutoff is happening at full or near-full charge.

The Speedbox LTE mini drains significantly faster than it used to — it used to last all day but now it's flat by midday. What's happening?

The most likely cause is the combination of cell capacity fade and poor signal conditions. When the hotspot can't get a strong LTE signal, the modem pushes transmit power to its ceiling — that draws substantially more current than a device holding a clean signal. A degraded cell already holds less usable charge, and maximum-power modem operation burns through whatever is left quickly. Move the hotspot closer to a window or position with better signal reception and check whether drain rate improves before replacing the battery.

The Speedbox LTE mini won't turn on at all after I left it in a drawer for two months — is the battery dead?

Not necessarily dead, but likely below the minimum boot voltage. Li-Polymer cells that sit discharged for extended periods drop below the threshold the device needs to start — on the Speedbox LTE mini, that floor is around 3.0V. Plug the hotspot into a charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button. If the charge indicator activates and the device boots after that period, the cell recovered. If it still shows no sign of life after a full charge cycle, replace the HB5P1H cell.
