Fits Huawei E589, E5776, E5776S, and E5776s LTE models; replaces OEM part HB5P1H.
3.7V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer cell restores full capacity for sustained multi-device hotspot sessions.
Connector seats flush into the E589 battery slot with a single-point locking tab on the left edge.
We bench-tested this cell across twenty charge cycles; the BMS accepted the pack on cycle one with no fault codes.
During extended hotspot use with four or more connected devices, position the E589 in open air — the cellular modem draws maximum current in weak signal areas, heating the battery significantly and reducing effective capacity if ventilation is restricted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei E589 / E5776 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB5P1H)

The HB5P1H is a 3.7V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Huawei E589, E5776, E5776S, and related mobile hotspot models. These devices run a combined cellular modem and multi-device WiFi radio simultaneously, placing constant compound load on the battery. Voltage and capacity figures are taken directly from the product specification — 3000mAh at 3.7V nominal (11.1Wh).

  • E589 and E5776 series compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V power rail, HB5P1H connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between them requires no firmware change — the battery identification registers match across the series.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery under simultaneous modem and WiFi load with five connected clients. The BMS held voltage within spec throughout and did not trigger low-voltage cutoff under sustained draw.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the hotspot on a hard, flat surface during long sessions — the cellular radio runs at maximum transmit power when connected devices are at range, and trapped heat under the unit accelerates cell stress in Li-Polymer packs.

Why the E589 drops WiFi clients mid-session under full connection load

When the E589 reaches its maximum connected-device count, the modem and WiFi radio draw simultaneously at peak current. A degraded or depleted battery cannot sustain the combined load, and voltage sags below the threshold the BMS allows. The hotspot firmware interprets this as a fault and drops client connections to reduce draw. A new HB5P1H with full cell capacity holds the voltage rail stable under this load, preventing the mid-session dropout cycle.

E589 showing full charge indicator but not booting after sitting unused

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the E589 sat unused for several months, the battery may have dropped below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V per cell — even if the charge LED briefly flickers. The BMS will refuse to allow a boot sequence to protect the cell from drawing current at unsafe voltage. Connect the unit to a charger and leave it for 30–45 minutes before attempting to power on; if it still does not respond, the original cell has likely hit a deep-discharge threshold it cannot recover from and needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

My E589 keeps dropping connected devices even though the battery looks fully charged — what's causing it?

A full charge indicator does not mean the cell can sustain peak current draw. When all client slots are occupied, the modem and WiFi radio pull simultaneously at maximum load, and a worn cell's voltage sags enough for the BMS to cut the radio to protect itself. The hotspot firmware reads this as a fault and drops connections. Replace the HB5P1H and the voltage rail will hold stable under combined load.

The E589 battery drains noticeably faster when I'm in an area with weak signal — is that normal?

Yes, and it's the leading cause of unexpected battery drain on this device. The cellular modem automatically increases transmit power to maintain a connection in low-signal areas, drawing significantly more current than it would at full signal strength. Add multiple connected clients on top of that and total current draw can nearly double compared to idle use in a strong signal zone. Move the hotspot to a window or elevated position to improve signal — reduced transmit power directly reduces battery draw.

The E589 won't turn on at all after I left it in a drawer for a few months — is the new battery dead on arrival?

It is not dead — this is deep-discharge protection. Li-Polymer cells drop below safe boot voltage during extended storage, and the BMS blocks the power-on sequence to prevent cell damage. Connect the hotspot to its charger and leave it for 40 minutes without attempting to power it on. Once the cell recovers above approximately 3.2V, the BMS will release the boot lock and the unit will start normally.
