Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telstra F500 / F188 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li3708T42P3h453756)
This is a 3.7V 830mAh Li-ion cell for the Telstra F500, F188, F230, F233, and compatible models. It fits the same physical footprint as the original and uses the OEM connector pinout. Capacity is rated at 830mAh (3.07Wh) — matched to the product data, not inflated.
- F500 / F188 / F230 / F233 compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector orientation, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers the full range. The fuel gauge IC on each device reads the same charge curve.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the F500 platform through a full discharge-charge sequence. The BMS accepted the new cell without a fault flag, and the charge IC held current within spec through the CV phase.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Why the F500 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The F500's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still running that old calibration — so the percentage it displays reflects the previous cell's impedance profile, not the new one. This causes the phone to report inaccurate state-of-charge, often showing full charge well before the cell is actually topped up. One complete discharge cycle down to automatic cutoff, followed by a full standard-rate charge, forces the IC to rewrite its internal model against the new cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem or screen draws a short high-current spike and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. It is a voltage-cliff issue, not a capacity problem. The cell's internal resistance causes a brief voltage sag under load that the BMS reads as a low-cell fault and cuts power. Run two full discharge-charge cycles to let the fuel gauge recalibrate, and confirm resting cell voltage sits above 3.6V after a full charge before calling the cell faulty.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
The BMS locks out the cell when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during storage — a protection against deep-discharge damage. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on; the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release its cutoff and allow the phone to boot. If the charge indicator light comes on during that period, the cell is recovering. If there is no response after 45 minutes on charge, check the charger output first — it must be a working 5V source.
Fast charging stopped working after I put the new battery in — the phone charges slowly now even on the same charger.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the F500 platform defaults to a conservative constant-current rate until it has profiled the new cell's impedance. The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake will not engage until the IC confirms the cell can accept higher current safely. Run one full standard-rate charge cycle to completion, then reconnect the fast charger — the handshake should negotiate correctly on the second cycle.
The battery percentage keeps jumping around erratically — it'll show 60%, then drop to 40% in seconds without any heavy use.
Erratic percentage jumps after a cell swap are a fuel gauge IC symptom, not a faulty cell. The coulomb counter is still running the learned model from the old battery and cannot accurately track state-of-charge on the new cell's different discharge curve. Drain the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge it fully at standard rate without interruption — one clean cycle resets the IC's reference points. After that cycle, percentage reporting should stabilise.
