Replaces EB504465VU, EB504465VUBSTD, EB504465VK, EB504465VA, B564465LU for T-Mobile SGH-T839 sliding QWERTY smartphone.
3.7V and 1500mAh capacity restores full charge cycles to aging SGH-T839 units losing capacity after years of use.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with flat contact orientation; locking tab seats flush against the frame.
We bench-tested this cell against the original discharge curve; BMS accepted charge immediately with no fault delays on first insert.
On first use after installation, discharge the phone completely before recharging — the fuel gauge IC needs one full cycle to recalibrate against the new cell voltage curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

T-Mobile SGH-T839 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB504465VU)

This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion cell for the T-Mobile SGH-T839 sliding QWERTY smartphone. It replaces OEM part numbers EB504465VU, EB504465VK, EB504465VA, EB504465VUBSTD, and B564465LU. Dimensions are 64.60 × 43.90 × 5.20mm — confirm these against your existing cell before installing.

  • SGH-T839 fit note: The T839 uses a standard contact plate with no NFC or secondary authentication handshake, so the replacement cell slots in without firmware negotiation — the phone reads voltage directly from the contact pads without a BMS pairing step.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load on the bench. The BMS held cutoff voltage cleanly at both ends — no false low-battery triggers during the discharge curve, and charge termination stopped current at the correct upper threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the phone. This gives the T839's fuel gauge IC a complete reference curve against the new cell — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings in early use.

Why the SGH-T839 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The T839 tracks charge state using a fuel gauge IC calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the IC's stored curve no longer matches actual voltage behaviour. The phone reads voltage at set intervals and maps it to a percentage — if the curve is wrong, the mapping is wrong. One complete uninterrupted discharge-to-charge cycle overwrites the old reference and re-anchors the gauge to the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem's minimum operating threshold under radio transmission load — even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The T839's EDGE radio and screen backfire together pull current spikes the gauge doesn't track in real time. The cell voltage sags below 3.5V under that combined load and the phone cuts out. After one full calibration cycle the gauge corrects its empty threshold and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My T839 shows 25% battery and then just turns off — is the replacement cell faulty?

It is not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC is still reading from the old discharge curve, so its 25% marker sits above the real voltage floor of the new cell. Under EDGE radio and screen load, current spikes drop the cell below 3.5V and the phone shuts down before the gauge catches up. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — this recalibrates the gauge's empty threshold against the new cell.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months before I installed it.

A cell stored for several months can self-discharge below 2.5V, which triggers the BMS protection lockout — the circuit opens to prevent damage and the phone sees no voltage at all. Plug in the charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold of around 2.8V. If the charging LED does not appear within five minutes, try a different cable — the T839's micro-USB port is sensitive to connector wear.

Battery percentage keeps jumping — it reads 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating in real time against a cell curve it does not yet recognise. The IC samples open-circuit voltage and maps it to a lookup table built for the original cell — a new cell with different internal resistance causes voltage readings that land in different table positions on each sample. The erratic jumping settles after one complete reference cycle: discharge the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.
