Fits TP-Link Neffos Y5s Dual SIM smartphones; replaces OEM part NBL-40A2400.
3.8V 2350mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers stable voltage during calls, messaging, and app use.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no mechanical locking tab required.
We bench-tested this pack on a Y5s unit; the fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell after one full discharge-charge cycle without errors.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the phone's coulomb counter recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TP-Link Neffos Y5s Dual SIM — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (NBL-40A2400)

This is a 3.8V Li-Polymer replacement battery rated at 2350mAh (8.93Wh) for the TP-Link Neffos Y5s Dual SIM. It fits the Neffos Y5s Dual SIM, Neffos Y5s Dual SIM LTE AM, TP804C, and TP804A. The OEM part number is NBL-40A2400.

  • Y5s Dual SIM / TP804A / TP804C compatibility: All four models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The NBL-40A2400 fits each without modification — the thermal sense pin and charge IC communication line are identical across the TP804 variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a TP804A unit. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first cycle, protection circuits tripped at the correct over-voltage threshold, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge within expected tolerance after a full calibration cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC on the Y5s is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. Running one full cycle at standard charge current lets the coulomb counter recalibrate before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Neffos Y5s after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. When the modem fires during a call or the screen ramps brightness, current draw spikes sharply. A new cell that hasn't been calibrated can't hold voltage under that load, so it drops below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the OS still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's discharge curve and reporting optimistically. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard current resets the coulomb counter and closes the gap between reported and actual state-of-charge.

Phone warm near the battery compartment during first charge after replacement

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes the same current profile it used on the degraded original, but the new cell's higher impedance converts more of that energy to heat during the constant-current phase. This is normal for the first two to three charge cycles and reduces as the cell impedance settles. If the case stays warm past the third full charge, check that the phone isn't charging inside a case or on a surface that traps heat — the Y5s has no active thermal management, so ambient airflow matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Neffos Y5s shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell isn't faulty — the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it reads voltage optimistically until the new cell hits a load-induced voltage cliff. Under modem or display load, current spikes and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold faster than the OS expects. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% at standard speed with fast charging disabled. After that cycle the coulomb counter resets and the shutoffs stop.

The battery percentage on the Y5s jumps around erratically after the swap — sometimes it gains 5% without charging.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar discharge curve. The coulomb counter learned the original cell's behaviour over months of use, and the new NBL-40A2400 cell presents a different impedance and voltage profile. The gauge will interpolate incorrectly until it completes one or two full discharge-charge cycles. Let the phone run down to auto-shutdown once, charge fully to 100% without interruption, and the percentage readings will stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my Neffos Y5s — the phone only slow-charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard current because the BMS on the new cell hasn't yet completed a full handshake with the phone's charge controller. Complete one full charge-discharge cycle at standard speed first. After that cycle, plug in again — the charge IC should re-negotiate the higher current profile and fast charging will resume. If it doesn't, check that the replacement battery connector is fully seated; a partially engaged thermal sense pin causes the charge IC to default to a lower safe-charge rate.
