Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tracfone Fiesta LTE / L64VL — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.85V, 4500mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Tracfone Fiesta LTE and L64VL smartphones. It fits the battery bay directly and connects to the same charge IC and fuel gauge IC as the factory cell. Capacity figures come from the product data: 4500mAh / 17.33Wh.

  • Fiesta LTE and L64VL fitment: Both model numbers share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Fiesta LTE platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first cycle without fault flags, and cell voltage held stable through a full discharge sweep.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. The Fiesta LTE fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve on that first cycle — skipping it causes percentage reporting errors for weeks.

Why the Fiesta LTE shuts down at 20–30% after a cell swap

The Fiesta LTE's fuel gauge IC carries the old cell's discharge curve in memory after replacement. When the new cell hits a voltage point that the old curve mapped to 20–30%, the phone treats it as a cutoff threshold and shuts down — even though real charge remains. The fix is one full discharge to 0% followed by a full charge to 100% at standard current. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets and the percentage readout tracks the new cell accurately.

USB fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement

On the first charge after installation, the Fiesta LTE's charge IC may refuse to negotiate the fast-charge protocol with an uncalibrated BMS — the handshake fails a safety check and the device falls back to standard 5V charging. This is normal behaviour on cycle one, not a fault with the cell. Run the first full charge at standard current, let it complete, and the BMS state registers correctly. Fast charge resumes on the second cycle once the charge IC recognises the BMS as initialised.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Fiesta LTE percentage is jumping around erratically after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so percentage readings are unreliable until it recalibrates. Run one uninterrupted discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully at standard current without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter locks onto the new cell's curve and the jumping stops.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — is it dead?

The cell likely discharged below the BMS lockout threshold during storage, which is typically around 2.5V per cell. The BMS cuts all output at that point to prevent damage and will not respond to a normal power button press. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the lockout floor, the BMS re-initialises, and the phone powers on from there.

The back of the phone feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — should I be worried?

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC pushes slightly more voltage to maintain current, generating extra heat in the first few cycles. This is expected behaviour and not a fault. Keep the phone out of cases during the first two or three charges to let heat dissipate freely. Warmth that persists beyond the third full charge cycle or becomes hot to the touch warrants checking that the battery connector is fully seated and flat against the contacts.
