Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

OnePlus 5 / 5T Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP637)
This is a 3.85V, 3200mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original BLP637 battery in the OnePlus 5 and 5T lineup. It fits the OnePlus 5, 5 Dual SIM, A5000, and 5T Star Wars Limited Edition, among other variants. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- OnePlus 5 and 5T platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The BLP637 spec covers the full voltage rail these boards expect — 3.85V nominal with the same charge termination voltage the PMIC is configured for.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a OnePlus 5 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering a fault, and the charge IC completed a full cycle without interruption. Coulomb counter registration was clean after one full discharge.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable WARP Charge or fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated register — otherwise percentage readings drift early.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the OnePlus 5 after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. When modem activity or screen brightness spikes current draw, the new cell's actual voltage briefly dips below the shutdown threshold — even though the reported percentage looks safe. The phone cuts out to protect the board, not because the cell is faulty. Run one full discharge to 1% and a complete charge to 100% with fast charging off, and the coulomb counter will re-anchor to the new cell's curve.
WARP Charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
OnePlus's proprietary fast charge protocol requires the charge IC to authenticate the cell's BMS response before switching to high-current mode. On the first cycle after a swap, the IC often defaults to standard 5V charging until it completes one handshake. Plug into the original OnePlus charger and cable — third-party cables with high-resistance data lines block the authentication signal entirely. After the first full cycle completes, WARP Charge should activate normally on subsequent connections.

Frequently Asked Questions
My OnePlus 5 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
The BMS locks out below approximately 2.5V per cell to prevent damage, and a cell that has self-discharged in storage will often hit that threshold. Plug it into the original OnePlus charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on — the charge IC needs time to trickle current past the BMS lockout voltage before the phone will respond. If the charging LED still doesn't activate after 30 minutes, try a different OnePlus cable, as a resistive cable can prevent the trickle charge signal from registering. Once the cell climbs above 3.0V, the phone should boot normally.
The battery percentage on my OnePlus 5 keeps jumping around — it shows 45%, then skips to 30% within minutes after the swap.
The fuel gauge IC is still running on the discharge model it built for the old cell, so its coulomb counter is misfiring against the new cell's different impedance profile. This is not a defective cell — it's a calibration mismatch. Run the battery down to 1% under normal use, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with WARP Charge disabled. After that single full cycle, the IC recalibrates its reference points and the percentage jumps should stop.
The OnePlus 5 feels noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges after the swap — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means the charge IC dissipates a bit more energy as heat during the first few cycles. This is normal and typically settles after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the back of the phone gets too hot to hold comfortably — above roughly 45°C — disconnect and let it cool before resuming. After the third full cycle, charging temperature should return to the level you'd expect from a fresh cell.
