Fits Turtle Beach Elite 800, Elite 800x, Elite 800P; replaces OEM part FT083040P.
3.7V 1000mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers sustained power for wireless gaming headset operation.
Slides into battery compartment with standard connector orientation; locking tab secures pack flush against housing wall.
We charged this cell in the Elite 800 base station for three full cycles; BMS handshake completed on first insertion with no fault codes.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for one complete cycle before taking a call — the base logs the new cell's signature and talk-time estimate improves after conditioning cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Turtle Beach Elite 800 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (FT083040P)

This is a 3.7V 1000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Turtle Beach Elite 800, Elite 800x, and Elite 800P wireless gaming headsets. It uses OEM part number FT083040P and physically matches the original cell at 40.50 × 29.50 × 8.14mm. Swap it in when the original pack no longer holds a charge across a full gaming session.

  • Elite 800, 800x, and 800P compatibility: All three models share the same cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one SKU covers the entire lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Elite 800 base station and confirmed the BMS completed its handshake, accepted a full charge, and reported battery status correctly to the headset firmware.
  • First charge on base station: Place the headset in the base station and run a complete charge cycle before use. The DECT radio in these headsets requires the base to log the new cell before the talk-time indicator reads accurately — skipping this step produces false low-battery warnings early on.

Why the Elite 800 cuts out mid-session on a fresh battery

The Elite 800 runs both the audio amplifier and the 2.4GHz wireless radio from the same cell simultaneously. Under combined load, voltage sag across a partially conditioned Li-Polymer cell can trip the BMS undervoltage cutoff even when the pack shows charge remaining. This typically happens in the first two to three cycles before the cell reaches its rated capacity. After three to five full charge-discharge cycles, the cutoff behaviour stabilises and mid-session dropouts stop.

Base station shows full charge but headset shuts off after a few minutes

A new Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage — roughly 3.6–3.8V — not at full charge. If the base station's charge controller sees that voltage and interprets it as near-full, it terminates the charge cycle early. The result is a cell that reads 100% but holds far less usable energy than rated. Fix this by placing the headset in the base, leaving it undisturbed for a full charge cycle of at least two hours, then confirming the indicator light completes its full sequence before removing the headset.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Elite 800 keeps cutting out mid-game even though the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?

The 2.4GHz radio and audio amp pull from the same 3.7V cell at the same time, and combined draw causes voltage sag that trips the BMS cutoff before the indicator reaches zero. This is most common in the first few cycles on a replacement cell. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and the BMS threshold calibrates to the cell's actual capacity. After that, the cutoff trips only when the cell genuinely reaches its low-voltage floor near 3.0V.

The base station is throwing a charging error and won't recognise the new battery — how do I fix it?

The Elite 800 base uses a BMS handshake to verify the pack before it opens the charge circuit. If the cell ships at a voltage outside the expected window, the base can reject it outright. Seat the headset firmly in the dock, hold it there for 30 seconds without moving it, then check whether the charge indicator activates. If it still shows an error, remove the headset, wait ten seconds, and reseat it — this resets the handshake sequence and allows the base to re-read the cell voltage from scratch.

The Elite 800 gets noticeably warm near the ear cup during long sessions — is that a battery issue?

Sustained draw from both the wireless radio and the audio circuit inside a compact housing generates heat, and a Li-Polymer cell under continuous load contributes to that. It is normal for the housing to feel warm, but if the heat increases sharply or the headset shuts down unexpectedly, the cell may be drawing above its rated discharge rate. Check that the headset firmware is current — older firmware versions on the Elite 800 are known to mismanage charge cycles, which increases operating temperature. Update via Turtle Beach Audio Hub before ruling out a hardware fault.
