Fits Skullcandy Hesh 3 wireless headphones; replaces OEM battery FT822132P.
3.7V, 400mAh lithium-polymer cell restores talk time and Bluetooth range on aging packs.
Slides into the battery compartment with flat connector tab oriented toward the contact pins.
We bench-tested this cell in a Hesh 3 base station; BMS settled after one full charge cycle.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for a complete cycle before taking calls — the base needs to log the new cell before talk-time estimates become accurate.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Skullcandy Hesh 3 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (FT822132P)

This is a 3.7V, 400mAh lithium-polymer cell replacing OEM part FT822132P in the Skullcandy Hesh 3 wireless headphones. It restores Bluetooth audio playback when the original cell has degraded past the point of holding a usable charge. Dimensions are 32.26 × 20.25 × 7.10mm — measure your original before fitting.

  • Hesh 3 fit: The Hesh 3 uses a compact Li-Polymer pouch cell at this specific footprint to sit flat inside the left ear cup housing. The connector orientation and cell dimensions must match exactly — this cell replicates the OEM footprint and connector to fit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and playback on the Hesh 3 platform. The onboard BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge circuit brought it to 4.2V at full capacity without interruption.
  • First-charge protocol for the Hesh 3: Charge the headphones fully via USB before the first listening session. The Hesh 3 firmware reads cell state during charging — a partial first cycle can cause the battery indicator to report inaccurately until a complete charge-discharge cycle has run.

Why the Hesh 3 cuts out mid-track on a new battery

The Hesh 3 runs Bluetooth radio and audio amplification simultaneously from a single 3.7V cell. When a degraded or newly installed cell sags under combined draw, the protection circuit trips before the nominal charge is exhausted. A new cell straight from storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — can trigger this on the first session. One full charge cycle before use brings the cell to operating voltage and stabilises the BMS response under load.

Talk time shorter than rated for the first few sessions

A fresh Li-Polymer pouch cell does not deliver full capacity on cycle one. Electrochemical activation across the polymer electrolyte takes three to five charge-discharge cycles to reach rated capacity. On the Hesh 3, this shows up as noticeably shorter playback in the first few uses before improving progressively. Run three complete charge and discharge cycles and the cell will reach its 400mAh rating.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hesh 3 keeps cutting out during playback even with a new battery fitted — what's causing it?

The Hesh 3 draws current from the Bluetooth radio and audio amp at the same time, and a cell sitting at storage voltage can't sustain that combined load without the protection circuit tripping. This isn't a faulty battery — it's the cell not yet at full operating voltage. Charge the headphones to 100% before the first session, and the cutouts should stop once the cell is at 4.2V.

The Hesh 3 battery indicator seems way off after I replaced the cell — it jumps around or shows full then dies fast

The Hesh 3 firmware calibrates its fuel gauge against the cell's charge history. A brand-new cell has no history, so the indicator reads inaccurately until the headphones complete at least one full charge and discharge cycle. Run a complete cycle — charge to full, drain through normal use, charge again — and the gauge will track the actual cell state correctly after that.

The replacement cell feels slightly warm after a long listening session — is that normal?

A 400mAh pouch cell in a sealed ear cup housing generates some heat under sustained Bluetooth and audio draw — that's expected. It becomes a problem if the housing is hot to the touch or the headphones shut down from thermal protection. If it's just warm after an hour or more of playback, the cell is operating within normal parameters. Check that the adhesive holding the cell is flush against the housing with no air gap trapping heat.
