Uniden EX3182 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Uniden EX3182 cordless phone handset. It slots directly into the handset to restore wireless operation between the handset and base station. Voltage and capacity match the original Uniden specification.

• EX3182 handset fit: The EX3182 base station charges through a contact plate that expects a 3.6V Ni-MH pack at a specific cell impedance. Swapping in a different voltage or chemistry breaks the charge handshake and the base will show a fault light or simply stop charging.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH compatible charger and confirmed BMS acceptance at the correct termination voltage. Cell temperature rise stayed within normal Ni-MH delta-T thresholds throughout.

Ni-MH packs lose voltage during storage — sometimes dropping low enough that the base station's charge controller rejects them as a fault condition rather than starting a charge cycle. The base is looking for a minimum resting voltage before it commits current to the pack. To recover the battery, leave the handset seated in the base undisturbed for at least 30 minutes. Most Uniden base stations will detect the slowly rising cell voltage and resume normal charging once the pack climbs above approximately 3.0V.

Talk time shorter than expected for the first few cycles

Ni-MH cells do not reach rated capacity on the first charge — this is normal electrochemistry, not a defect. The crystalline structure inside the cells needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition properly and deliver the rated 1200mAh. Do not judge the battery on the first cycle. Run the handset until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — talk time will increase noticeably with each cycle until it stabilises at rated capacity around cycle four or five.
