Fits Southwestern Bell FF92 and S60526 cordless phone handsets replacing OEM battery pack FF92.
3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full talk time on the FF92 platform across multiple charge cycles.
Connector slides straight into the handset battery slot with positive terminal forward and locking tab seated flush.
We bench-tested this cell in an FF92 base station — BMS voltage settled at 3.6V nominal, no charge errors on first insertion.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Southwestern Bell FF92 / S60526 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Southwestern Bell FF92 and S60526 cordless phone handsets. It replaces the original pack when the handset can no longer hold charge between calls. Voltage and cell chemistry match OEM spec exactly.

  • FF92 and S60526 compatibility: Both models share the same handset housing, contact layout, and 3.6V NiMH battery bay. The connector orientation and cell footprint are identical across this handset family, so one pack covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the FF92 handset. The BMS accepted charge from the base station cradle without error and voltage held stable across the full discharge curve.
  • First charge on NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step leaves the pack at 60–70% of its 1200mAh rating from the start.

Base station showing no charge light on a new NiMH pack

NiMH cells sit at a suppressed voltage after months in storage — sometimes below 3.0V. The FF92 base station checks the pack voltage before committing to a charge cycle, and a flat pack can fall below its acceptance threshold. The base then shows no charge indicator or a fault light even though nothing is wrong with the battery. To recover the pack, remove it from the handset, let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes, then reinstall and reseat the handset firmly in the cradle. Most packs will begin charging normally once the contact voltage stabilises above 3.2V.

Talk time shorter than expected after replacement

NiMH cells do not deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle — this is normal chemistry behaviour, not a fault. The FF92 handset draws a light, steady current, which means shallow cycles early on can leave the cells partially conditioned. Full 1200mAh capacity typically appears after three to five complete charge and discharge cycles. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator activates, then return it to the base for a full charge — repeat this three times and talk time will reflect the rated capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My FF92 handset is showing a low battery warning within an hour of coming off the base — is the new battery faulty?

Almost certainly not. NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full cycles before they reach rated capacity. The handset will show low battery earlier than expected during those first few cycles because the pack genuinely has less usable charge at that point. Run it down to the low-battery indicator, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat — talk time increases noticeably with each cycle.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT cordless phones lose their base registration when power is fully removed from the handset. The FF92 stores pairing data in volatile memory, and pulling the battery clears it. Re-register the handset by pressing the Find Handset or Page button on the base for 3–5 seconds while the handset is powered on — consult the FF92 manual for the exact registration sequence, which typically takes under 60 seconds to complete.

The handset is draining overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This points to a seating issue rather than a battery fault. The FF92 base charges through metal contact pins, and if the handset isn't fully clicked into the cradle, the circuit stays open — the battery runs on standby draw all night with no top-up charge. Check that the handset seats flush with an audible or tactile click, clean the charge contacts on both the handset and cradle with a dry cloth, and confirm the charge indicator light activates when the handset is placed in the base.
