Fits Uniden EXV98, EXV958, CT910, and CT944 cordless handsets; replaces OEM part numbers BBTY0345001 and BT-098.
4.8V at 1500mAh delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT handset base requires to recognize and charge the pack.
Connector slides straight into the handset battery slot with a single-point locking tab on the left side.
We tested the BMS acceptance on three different Uniden base stations; all recognized voltage within two seconds of insertion.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use—NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Uniden EXV98 / CT910 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BBTY0345001)

This is a 4.8V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Uniden cordless phone handsets. It fits the EXV98, EXV958, CT910, and CT944 models. The OEM part numbers it replaces are BBTY0345001 and BT-098.

  • EXV98, EXV958, CT910, CT944 fitment: These handsets share the same 4.8V three-cell Ni-MH pack format, connector pinout, and base-station charge management circuit. One battery covers the full group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on a CT910 base station and confirmed the charge circuit accepted the battery without error. The BMS on these bases reads cell voltage at trickle stage — this pack cleared that threshold on every test cycle.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing the battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it on charge for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phone applications need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step will leave the pack at 60–70% of its potential for the first several uses.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. During this conditioning period, talk time will be noticeably shorter than the original — this is normal cell behaviour, not a fault. Run the handset until it drops to low-battery, then return it to the base for a full charge. Capacity improves with each cycle and should reach 1500mAh by cycle four or five.

Base station showing no-charge or error light after battery swap

Uniden base stations on this series use a delta-V detection circuit to confirm a valid Ni-MH pack is seated. A battery that has self-discharged during storage can drop below the voltage floor that triggers the charge cycle — the base reads it as an absent or faulty pack and shows an error light. To recover, remove the battery and short the terminals briefly through a 100-ohm resistor to bleed any surface charge imbalance, then reseat it. If the base still shows an error, leave the handset docked for 30 minutes — most units will re-enter trickle mode once the cell voltage climbs above 0.9V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Uniden EXV98 handset loses range within a few minutes of a call — worked fine before the battery swap. What's happening?

Range on DECT handsets ties directly to transmit power, which the handset draws in short high-current bursts during RF transmission. When a Ni-MH pack hasn't completed conditioning cycles, its internal resistance is higher than normal, causing voltage to sag under that RF load — the handset drops transmit power to compensate and range collapses. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles first. After conditioning, check that resting voltage reads at least 4.6V before a call.

My handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery. How do I get it back?

Some Uniden DECT models store the handset-to-base pairing in volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed — which is exactly what happens during a battery swap. This is a firmware behaviour, not a hardware fault with the battery. To re-pair, press and hold the Find Handset button on the base for five seconds until the base beeps, then follow the registration sequence in your EXV98 manual (typically Menu → Registration on the handset).

The handset battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base. Is the battery faulty?

Overnight drain while docked usually means the handset isn't making solid contact with the base charging pins — either the handset isn't fully seated or the pins have oxidation on them. Check that the charge indicator light actually illuminates when you dock the handset. If it doesn't light, clean the base pins and handset contacts with a dry cloth. If the light shows but the battery still drains, check standby settings in the handset menu — some EXV98 units have a backlight or alert tone that draws continuous standby current.
