Fits Urovo RT40 mobile data terminal, replaces OEM part number HBLDT47.
Delivers 3.85V at 5100mAh capacity—sufficient for full-shift scanning and wireless data transmission in warehouse and retail environments without mid-shift swaps.
Connector type matches original pack slot orientation; locking tab seats flush against cradle contact points with no modification needed.
Bench testing shows BMS accepts charge within two minutes of dock insertion; no delayed handshake or fault light on standard Urovo cradle equipment.
After installation, place the scanner in its cradle for a complete charge cycle before peak-load use—the scan trigger and wireless radio draw combined current hardest when cell voltage sits low, and pre-charging prevents false BMS shutdowns during rapid scan bursts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Urovo RT40 — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HBLDT47)

This is a 3.85V, 5100mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Urovo RT40 handheld barcode scanner. It fits the RT40 mobile data terminal used across warehouse, retail, and logistics environments. Swap it in when the original cell degrades and can no longer hold a charge through a full shift.

  • RT40 platform fit: The RT40 uses a 3.85V single-cell Li-ion pack with a multi-pin connector that carries both charging current and BMS data to the device. The HBLDT47 matches that connector and communicates battery state correctly — the scanner won't show false low-battery warnings or refuse to boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on RT40 hardware. The BMS reported state-of-charge accurately across the range, and the protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge and short-circuit test conditions.
  • First-shift preparation on the RT40: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before putting it into pick-and-pack rotation. The scan trigger draws a sharp inrush current, and that hit is hardest when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents a BMS protection trip on the first trigger pull of the shift.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new HBLDT47 pack

RT40 docks communicate with the battery over the multi-pin connector, not just the power pins. If the cradle flags a charging error on a fresh pack, the most common cause is contact resistance at that connector — either debris on the dock pins or an incomplete seating of the battery. Clean the contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and the charging handshake should re-establish. If the error persists after cleaning, check that the dock firmware is current, as older versions can reject packs with updated BMS firmware.

RT40 dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a rapid scan burst, the RT40 is drawing current for the imager, the processor, and the wireless radio simultaneously. If the cell voltage sags under that combined load, the radio subsystem can drop its connection before the scanner shows a low-battery warning. This is more likely late in a shift when the cell is below 3.6V. Check the battery status screen — if you're seeing drops below 3.5V under load, the cell is near end-of-discharge and needs to return to the cradle before the next scan run.

Frequently Asked Questions

My RT40 stopped reading barcodes right after I swapped the battery — what happened?

The imager needs a minimum supply voltage to fire reliably, and a new pack shipped at partial charge may not have enough headroom to sustain it through trigger inrush. Put the scanner in the cradle, charge it fully, and the imager will read normally. If it still fails after a full charge, check the battery contacts inside the compartment for any debris bridging the data pins.

The RT40 feels noticeably warm after a long shift — is that a battery problem or a device problem?

Sustained scanning plus continuous wireless polling generates heat inside the RT40's enclosed housing, and the battery pack sits directly in that thermal path. Some warmth is normal. If the pack is hot to the touch rather than warm, the BMS may be throttling discharge current to protect the cell — dock the scanner and let it cool for ten minutes before checking the battery status screen for a protection flag.

New battery, but the RT40 isn't lasting as long through a shift as the original did — what's pulling capacity down?

Wireless polling interval and scan burst frequency are the two biggest draws on the RT40, and neither shows up as a single large current spike — they accumulate across the shift. Check the device's wireless settings; a polling interval set to aggressive keeps the radio active between scans and compounds the drain. Also confirm the battery status screen is showing a full charge at the start of shift — a pack that didn't complete its first full charge cycle in the cradle will show reduced endurance until it has run through at least one complete charge-discharge cycle.
