Fits V Tech KidiBuzz tablets using OEM part number SP605062 as direct replacement.
3.8V at 2500mAh capacity delivers full operational runtime for wireless play and learning apps.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no locking tab — straight insertion and seated flat.
We bench-tested the cell on KidiBuzz firmware; BMS accepted the new pack on first boot with no fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge calibration and fixes inaccurate percentage readings that appear after battery swaps.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

V Tech KidiBuzz — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SP605062)

This is a 3.8V, 2500mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the V Tech KidiBuzz children's tablet (OEM part SP605062). It fits KidiBuzz units sold under model reference 80-169500. Voltage and capacity match the original cell exactly.

  • KidiBuzz and 80-169500 compatibility: Both references point to the same hardware revision. The connector pinout, cell dimensions (60.66 × 50.32 × 6.14mm), and 3.8V nominal voltage rail are identical across the range, so one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the KidiBuzz board. The charge IC accepted the new cell without fault flags, and the BMS reported normal status throughout — no thermal cutoff trips, no communication errors.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: After fitting this battery, run the tablet until it shuts off automatically on low battery, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. The KidiBuzz fuel gauge IC calibrates against cycle data from the old cell — one full discharge-to-shutoff and uninterrupted recharge resets that calibration against the new cell and clears inaccurate percentage readings.

KidiBuzz shutting down at 15–25% battery remaining

This happens because the KidiBuzz display backlight and WiFi radio draw current simultaneously, which causes a sharper voltage drop than the fuel gauge anticipates. When cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold under that combined load, the board shuts down even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. The fix is a single full recalibration cycle — discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. After that cycle the fuel gauge maps the new cell's actual voltage curve, and the early shutdowns stop.

Battery percentage jumping or frozen on screen after swap

The KidiBuzz fuel gauge IC stores charge-state data tied to the previous cell's capacity history. Drop in a new cell and that stored data no longer matches, so the displayed percentage either jumps erratically or sticks at one number. This is not a faulty battery — it is a calibration mismatch. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then plug in and charge uninterrupted to 100%. The IC resets its reference points against the new 2500mAh cell and the percentage display stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

The KidiBuzz shows 30% battery and just turns off — why?

Under the combined load of the display and WiFi, cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge tracks. The BMS hits its cutoff voltage before the gauge reaches zero, so the tablet shuts down with charge still showing on screen. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this recalibrates the fuel gauge against the new cell's actual voltage curve and the early shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage is stuck at the same number and won't move after I replaced the battery — what's wrong?

The KidiBuzz fuel gauge IC holds calibration data from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored data no longer matches, and the percentage display can freeze or jump. Let the tablet discharge completely until it shuts itself off, then charge it straight through to 100% without unplugging early. One full cycle resets the IC reference and the percentage will track normally after that.

The tablet feels warm while charging after fitting the new battery — is that normal?

Yes. The charge IC on the KidiBuzz board runs a conditioning phase on a new Li-Polymer cell during the first charge cycle, which generates slightly more heat than subsequent charges. Surface warmth during that first charge is expected and not a sign of a defective cell. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or the charge does not complete within a normal window, remove it from charge and check that the connector is fully seated before trying again.
