Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

VECTRON Mobilepro 3 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B60)

This 3.7V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original B60 cell in the VECTRON Mobilepro 3 and Mobilepro III payment terminals. It restores power to portable POS devices used for card transactions at retail counters, market stalls, and mobile merchant setups. Voltage and capacity match the original specification exactly.

  • Mobilepro 3 and Mobilepro III compatibility: Both model variants share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, B60 connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — this battery fits either without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge-discharge sequence on the Mobilepro 3 platform. The BMS accepted the handshake on first boot, and the charge IC entered top-off mode correctly at terminal voltage.
  • First deployment tip: After installing, complete one full transaction cycle before putting the terminal into live use. The Mobilepro 3 maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the on-screen charge indicator correctly.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery swap

The Mobilepro 3 runs a PCI-compliant security check during every boot. This check draws a brief current spike that a new battery's BMS may flag as anomalous before the handshake is fully established. If the terminal stalls at the boot logo or restarts immediately, the BMS has not yet accepted the host device. Plug in the charging cable first, let the terminal reach the home screen once under charge, then boot again on battery power alone — that sequence completes the BMS initialisation.

Terminal won't power on after sitting unused in a drawer

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. A Mobilepro 3 left unused for several months can drop the cell below the BMS recovery threshold — typically under 2.5V — at which point the terminal appears completely dead. Connect the original charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons; the BMS uses a trickle pre-charge mode to bring the cell back above the 2.8V recovery floor. Once the charge LED activates and shows a steady state, the terminal will power on normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Mobilepro 3 reboots halfway through a card transaction — is the battery causing this?

Yes, this is a known BMS overcurrent trip. The receipt printer motor and wireless radio fire simultaneously during transaction completion, creating a combined current spike that exceeds the overcurrent threshold on a degraded or freshly installed cell. On a new battery, this typically resolves after two or three full transaction cycles once the BMS learns the device's load profile. If it persists beyond that, check that the battery connector is fully seated — an intermittent contact mimics the same symptom.

The battery indicator is stuck at 99% and won't show 100% even after hours on charge — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. The Mobilepro 3 charge IC holds the cell in top-off mode near full capacity rather than pushing to absolute maximum voltage, which protects cell longevity. The display reads 99% because the terminal only logs 100% once the charge IC sends a completion flag, and on a new cell that flag is delayed until the first full cycle is recorded. Run one complete charge-to-use-to-recharge cycle and the indicator will update correctly.

The terminal gets noticeably warm during a busy period with back-to-back transactions — is that a battery issue?

Heat during heavy use is a load issue, not a fault. The Mobilepro 3 draws simultaneously from the display backlight, wireless radio, and receipt printer during peak transaction periods — that combined load generates heat at both the cell and the charging circuit. The Li-Polymer cell is rated to operate safely within this thermal range. If the terminal shuts off from heat rather than just feeling warm, ensure the device is not enclosed in a case that blocks the rear ventilation, and let it idle for two minutes before resuming.
