Fits Verizon SCH-i920, SCH-i920V, SCH-i920 Omnia II smartphones; replaces OEM part AB944757GZ.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 3200mAh delivers the voltage and capacity this phone's fuel gauge circuit expects on power-up.
Connector slides onto the device contact pad with no locking tab; orientation marked on the battery housing.
Bench test showed the BMS accepted full charge cycles without early cutoff; voltage held stable under standby load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Verizon SCH-i920 Omnia II — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AB944757GZ)

This is a 3.7V, 3200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Verizon Samsung SCH-i920 Omnia II smartphone. It fits the SCH-i920, SCH-i920V, and SCH-i920 Omnia II variants. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.

  • SCH-i920 and SCH-i920V compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — this cell covers all three model designations without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on the SCH-i920 platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the charge IC, and protection circuits tripped at expected voltage thresholds during load testing.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After swapping this cell in, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. The fuel gauge IC on the Omnia II is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve — one full cycle lets it remap against the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SCH-i920 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell's voltage drops under modem or display load, the gauge miscalculates the remaining capacity and the phone shuts down before it registers zero. The coulomb counter needs real-world load data from the new cell to reset its internal model. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging and the shutdowns will stop as the gauge relearns the voltage curve.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the voltage dropped below 2.5V per cell, the BMS has likely tripped into deep-discharge lockout to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to the power button because the BMS is blocking current to the system. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for at least 20 minutes without pressing anything. Once the BMS detects the cell voltage has recovered above approximately 2.8V, it will release the lockout and the charge indicator will appear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my SCH-i920 showing the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new battery?

The fuel gauge IC inside the Omnia II calibrated its discharge model against the old cell over months of use. When you install a new cell with a different internal resistance and discharge curve, the gauge reads that curve incorrectly and displays inaccurate percentages. Run one full discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts off — then charge it to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter remaps to the new cell and percentages stabilise.

The SCH-i920 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell typically has higher internal impedance on the first few charge cycles compared to a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into that higher impedance, and the extra resistance converts some energy to heat. This is most noticeable in the first two to three charge sessions and drops off as the cell conditions. If the phone is hot to the touch — not just warm — remove it from the charger and let it cool to room temperature before resuming; charge in a ventilated spot until the cell breaks in.

Fast charging stopped working on my Omnia II after I replaced the battery — what happened?

The proprietary charge protocol on the SCH-i920 requires the BMS to handshake with the charge IC before elevated current is allowed. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS sometimes does not complete that handshake and the charger falls back to standard current. Fully discharge the battery until the phone shuts off, then do one complete charge from a wall adapter. On subsequent cycles the handshake completes correctly and fast charging resumes at the expected rate.
