Fits Samsung SCH-I400, EB504465YZ OEM part number replacement for Verizon Continuum smartphone.
3.7V nominal, 1500mAh capacity delivers standard runtime for mid-2000s Android handset operation.
Connector slides into battery slot with positive contact on upper edge, locking tab secures downward.
Bench test showed clean 3.7V resting voltage, BMS accepted charge cycle without fault codes or thermal drift.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before heavy load — the fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve to report accurate percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Verizon SCH-I400 Continuum — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB504465YZ)

This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery for the Samsung SCH-I400 Continuum and related Verizon-branded Android handsets. It replaces part numbers EB504465YZ, EB504465IZ, and SAMINTBATS5. Fit models include the SCH-I400, i400 Continuum, Gem i100, and SCH-i100 among others.

  • SCH-I400 and Gem i100 platform compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One replacement cell covers the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the SCH-I400. The BMS accepted charge current correctly, thermal cutoff triggered at expected thresholds, and the protection circuit responded normally to over-discharge events.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SCH-I400 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When the modem or screen pulls current, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC expects at that state of charge. The phone reads adequate capacity but the cell voltage falls below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V — and the device shuts off. One full discharge-to-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and corrects the percentage reporting.

SCH-I400 shows incorrect battery percentage after replacement

The Android fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge profile from the old cell. A new cell with different internal resistance reads differently under load, so the reported percentage drifts from actual charge level. Percentage may jump erratically or plateau at unexpected values. Charge the phone to 100%, let it discharge fully until shutdown, then charge back to 100% without interruption — this forces the IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual voltage curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SCH-I400 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?

Probably not dead, but the BMS has locked out due to deep discharge below 2.5V per cell. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell long enough to bring voltage above the BMS re-enable threshold before the phone will respond to the power button.

The SCH-I400 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?

A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates more heat during the first few cycles. This is normal and reduces after two or three full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone stays warm well past a full charge, check that the charger output matches the rated 5V — over-voltage from a mismatched adapter keeps the charge IC working harder than it should.

The battery percentage on my SCH-I400 jumps around erratically — it read 60%, then jumped to 85%, then dropped to 40% within a few minutes.

This is the fuel gauge IC losing its reference point against the new cell's discharge profile. The coulomb counter accumulated error from the old cell and hasn't recalibrated yet. Run one uninterrupted full discharge — let the phone shut itself off — then charge straight to 100% on a stable 5V charger without unplugging mid-cycle. After that single cycle the IC locks onto the new discharge curve and percentage readings stabilise.
