Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vertical CP2001 IP DECT / RTX CT8010 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Vertical CP2001 IP DECT and RTX CT8010 cordless handsets. It slots into the battery compartment and restores power to the handset unit. No OEM part number is listed for this battery — match by model before ordering.
- CP2001 and CT8010 compatibility: Both handsets share the same battery footprint — 53 x 34 x 5.70mm — and the same 3.7V Li-ion voltage rail. The base station charging circuit targets that voltage, so either handset charges through its cradle contacts without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge passes on the bench. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and allowed clean recharge from the base. No thermal event or false cutoff at ambient temperature.
- First charge after installation: Li-ion cells lose capacity during warehouse storage. After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full uninterrupted charge before first use — this brings the cell to rated capacity and lets the protection circuit calibrate to the pack's actual voltage floor.
Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement
A Li-ion cell shipped from storage arrives partially discharged — sometimes below 3.5V. The handset's fuel gauge, if it has one, may read inaccurate capacity until the cell completes two or three full charge-discharge cycles. The protection circuit also sets its low-voltage threshold on the first few cycles. Run three complete cycles — full charge in base, then use until the handset gives a low-battery alert — before judging capacity against the original. After conditioning, the cell should hold close to its rated 1200mAh.
Handset loses DECT pairing when battery is swapped
Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, including the memory that stores the DECT pairing token with the base station. When you fit the new battery and power on, the handset may show "searching" or fail to register a call. To fix this, put the base station into registration mode — usually a long press of the page or register button — then trigger pairing from the handset menu. Consult the CP2001 or CT8010 quick-start guide for the exact key sequence, as it differs between firmware versions.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CP2001 handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is this the battery?
A battery draining overnight while docked usually means the handset is not making a clean connection with the charging contacts, not that the cell itself is faulty. Check both the handset contacts and the base cradle contacts for dust or corrosion — a cotton bud with isopropyl alcohol clears most contact fouling. If the base indicator light confirms a charge lock, the cell is receiving current and overnight drain stops. If the light does not confirm charge, reseat the handset firmly until the indicator activates.
The base station shows a charging error or flashes an error light after I fitted the new battery — what's wrong?
A new Li-ion cell from storage can arrive at a voltage low enough that the base station's charge controller rejects it as a fault condition rather than a depleted pack. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, then reseat it firmly — this resets the charge handshake. If the error persists, connect a USB-based Li-ion charger at 0.5A directly to the cell terminals to bring it above 3.6V, then return it to the base. Once the base sees the cell above its acceptance threshold, normal charging resumes.
My CP2001 range dropped noticeably after swapping the battery — calls break up near the edge of the building where they were fine before.
Range drop after a battery swap usually points to voltage sag under RF transmit load, not a fault in the DECT antenna or base station. The handset's transmit circuit draws a short current spike each time it sends a radio burst — if the cell voltage sags below roughly 3.4V under that load, transmit power drops and the signal weakens. Condition the new cell with two or three full charge-discharge cycles so the protection circuit settles its discharge floor accurately. After conditioning, retest range from the same locations — if sag was the cause, range recovers to original levels.
