Fits Virgin Mobile Montage SPH-M350; replaces original 3.7V 940mAh battery.
3.7V 940mAh cell delivers steady voltage for calling, texting, and standby without sag under modem load.
Connector slides straight into the Montage battery slot; no locking tab, sits flush against the contact springs.
We ran discharge curves on the bench — BMS accepted charge immediately, voltage held flat through mid-cycle discharge.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without enabling any fast-charge option to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Virgin Mobile Montage / SPH-M350 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 940mAh Li-ion battery for the Virgin Mobile Montage (SPH-M350). It replaces a degraded or failed original cell and restores full function to calling, texting, and standby operation. Dimensions are 54.72 × 41.58 × 4.12mm — confirm your original cell matches before installing.

  • Montage / SPH-M350 fit: Both model names refer to the same handset sold under different identifiers. The battery connector, voltage rail, and physical footprint are identical across both SKUs, so one cell covers either label.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the SPH-M350 platform. The BMS accepted the charge handshake without fault flags, and voltage held stable under combined screen and radio load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The Montage's fuel gauge IC recalibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve during this first cycle.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Montage after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity issue. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks in brightness, current draw spikes sharply. A new cell that hasn't been calibrated can't sustain voltage under that load, and the BMS cuts power to protect the cell before the percentage display reaches zero. One full discharge-charge cycle lets the fuel gauge IC map the actual voltage-to-capacity curve of the new cell. After calibration, the shutoffs stop because the system accurately predicts the low-voltage threshold before it's hit.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks charge current to prevent damage. The phone won't respond to the power button and may show nothing on the charger. Connect to a wall charger — not USB from a PC — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. Most BMS circuits begin a trickle pre-charge recovery at around 2.5V and will re-initialise; the charging indicator should appear before the 30-minute mark.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Montage shows a different battery percentage after I put in the new battery — it jumps around and doesn't seem accurate. What's causing that?

The fuel gauge IC in the Montage was calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches actual voltage, so the percentage reading skips or sits wrong. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates against the new cell and the percentage stabilises.

My Montage gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell. Is something wrong?

A new Li-ion cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into higher resistance during early cycles, which generates more heat than you'd see from a well-cycled battery. The warmth should reduce after three to five full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that the charge port and contacts are clean and making full contact.

The Montage won't charge past about 80% with the new battery — it just stops. What should I check?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, some BMS units apply a conservative charge ceiling until they confirm the cell is stable. This is a one-cycle behaviour, not a fault. Discharge the phone to automatic shutoff, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100%. If the ceiling persists past the second full cycle, clean the battery contacts with a dry cloth and confirm the charger output is 5V — an undervolting charger will trigger an early charge cutoff at the BMS.
