Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone Mini D100 / Mini D101 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 900mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Vodafone Mini D100 and Mini D101 smartphones. It restores power where the original has degraded or failed to hold charge. Capacity figure is 900mAh (3.33Wh) as specified in the product data.

  • Mini D100 and D101 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and connector pinout — 46.20 x 34.14 x 5.68mm physical footprint. The cell slots directly into either handset without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Mini D100. The BMS accepted charge from the onboard charge IC without tripping, and voltage held stable across screen-on and standby draw states.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging if available and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve — skipping this step is the main reason percentage readings jump erratically in the first day.

Why the Mini D100 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The IC reads voltage but maps it against old data, so it reports percentages that are off — sometimes by 15–20%. One complete discharge down to automatic shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under load from the modem radio or display, the cell voltage drops sharply at a certain state of charge — faster than the fuel gauge IC predicted. The phone's protection circuit triggers a cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. If this happens after the first cycle, run a second full discharge-charge cycle; the IC recalibrates its cutoff threshold against the new cell's actual voltage curve. After two full cycles the shutdown point should stabilise above 5%.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone feels warm near the battery area while charging — is that normal with the new cell?

A new Li-ion cell typically has slightly higher impedance than a worn original, which generates more heat during the first few charge cycles as the charge IC pushes current in. This settles after two or three full cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, remove it from charge and check that the charge cable and adapter output match the phone's rated input voltage — stay at 5V/1A for the first cycle.

The Mini D100 won't power on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks before installation.

If the cell discharged below approximately 2.5V in storage, the BMS will have entered a lockout state to prevent damage — the phone will not respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything; the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold of around 3.0V, at which point the phone should boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working on the Mini D100 after fitting this battery — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge ICs default to a conservative constant-current profile until the BMS on the new cell has completed one handshake cycle. This is normal behaviour, not a fault with the battery. Charge the phone fully once using the standard adapter, then disconnect and power cycle the handset. Fast charge should re-engage on the next charge session once the charge IC has confirmed the new cell's BMS response.
