Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone Smart First 6 / V695 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi014A2)

This 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original TLi014A2 battery in the Vodafone Smart First 6, V695, and VF-V695. It also fits the Smart 4 Mini and several additional models sharing the same footprint and connector. If your phone no longer holds charge or drops off suddenly under load, this is the direct swap.

  • Smart First 6 and V695 platform fit: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, battery cavity dimensions, and connector pinout — the TLi014A2 part number covers the full range without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a V695 unit. The BMS accepted charge from the stock charger without fault codes, and cell voltage held above 3.6V through moderate screen-on load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, run the phone down to automatic shutdown and charge fully to 100% in one uninterrupted cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference point against the new cell's discharge curve before you rely on the percentage readout.

Why the Smart First 6 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Smart First 6 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its charge model from the original cell's historical discharge curve. When you install a fresh cell, that stored model no longer matches reality. The gauge will show incorrect percentages — sometimes reading 80% when the phone is nearly flat. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete charge to 100% forces the IC to relearn the new cell's voltage profile. After that cycle, percentage accuracy normalises.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem or display's minimum rail requirement under load — even though the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. A fresh cell with an uncalibrated gauge is the most common cause on the Smart First 6. The BMS cuts the output before the UI percentage catches up. Run one full calibration cycle first; if the shutdowns persist after that, check that resting cell voltage measures above 3.7V with a multimeter before reinstalling.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vodafone Smart First 6 shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?

Almost always, no. The fuel gauge IC on the Smart First 6 is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old cell. When voltage drops under screen or modem load, the BMS cuts power before the displayed percentage catches up. Run one full cycle — discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — and the gauge recalibrates to the new cell. If shutdowns continue after that cycle, measure resting cell voltage with a multimeter; it should read above 3.7V.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically after I replaced the cell — what's causing it?

The coulomb counter in the Smart First 6 accumulated data on the old cell's internal resistance and capacity fade over time. A new cell has different impedance characteristics, so the IC's estimates become unstable until it re-establishes a baseline. This is normal behaviour in the first few charge cycles. Do one complete discharge-to-shutdown and full charge without interruption, and the percentage readings will stabilise.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery area while charging the new cell — should I be concerned?

Some warmth during the first few charges is expected. The charge IC pushes current into a new cell with lower internal resistance than the degraded original, which generates slightly more heat until the cell settles. Keep the phone on a flat, uncovered surface during those first charges. If the back of the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, disconnect and let it cool to room temperature before continuing — the charge IC on the Smart First 6 does not have aggressive thermal throttling at low charge rates.
