Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xenon 50121527-004 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion battery pack carrying OEM part number 50121527-004. It fits Xenon barcode scanners that originally shipped with that pack. Voltage and capacity match the original cell exactly.
- Xenon scanner platform fit: Xenon handheld scanners share a common voltage rail and connector spec across several models — this pack slots into any unit that takes the 50121527-004. The BMS handshake is the same across the line, so the dock and scanner firmware recognise the pack without throwing a fault code.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge, then triggered rapid scan bursts while monitoring BMS cutoff thresholds. The cell held voltage through combined imager and wireless inrush without triggering a premature low-cell trip.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before using it in pick-and-pack. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum voltage — a pre-charged pack prevents the BMS from tripping on the very first scan burst of a new shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a brand-new pack
A charging error on a new pack almost always comes down to contact resistance at the dock, not a fault inside the cell. The cradle uses spring-loaded contacts, and any oxidation or debris between those contacts and the pack terminals raises resistance enough to trigger the dock's charge fault circuit. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and watch for the charge indicator to switch from error to active. If the error clears, run the pack to a full charge before returning it to service.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During a fast scan burst, the imager fires while the wireless radio is actively polling — both draw from the cell at the same time. If the pack's state of charge is already low, the combined inrush pulls cell voltage below the BMS floor, causing a momentary power drop that drops the wireless link before the BMS fully trips. The scanner may reconnect within seconds, but the session data for those scans can be lost. Keep the pack above 30% state of charge during high-frequency scanning shifts — the dock's battery indicator turns amber at roughly 3.5V, which is your cue to swap or recharge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My scanner stops reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — is the battery dead already?
It is not dead — it shipped in a storage state, typically around 40–50% charge, and the imager draw at minimum cell voltage can cause the BMS to cut power to the laser or imaging module before the scanner fully initialises. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge it fully before using it. Once the charge indicator goes solid green, the imager will fire cleanly on the first trigger pull.
My shift is shorter than it used to be with the original battery — the scanner dies before the end of the pick round.
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling both pull from the cell simultaneously, and if your operation has increased scan volume or moved to a faster wireless polling interval, the draw is higher than when the original pack was new. Check whether the dock's charge indicator reads full before the shift starts — a pack that starts the shift at 80% instead of 100% loses a meaningful portion of its working window. Charge to 100% before each shift and confirm the dock contact points are clean so the charge cycle completes fully.
The scanner gets noticeably warm after a few hours of continuous use — is that a battery problem?
Warmth after extended use is normal for a combined scan-plus-wireless load inside a sealed plastic housing — the cell generates heat under sustained draw and the enclosure traps it. The problem arises if the housing gets too hot to hold comfortably, which signals the cell is running hotter than the BMS thermal threshold and degradation will accelerate. If the scanner feels uncomfortably warm, set it in the cradle for ten minutes to let the cell temperature drop below 40°C before continuing — that single habit extends cell cycle life across the pack's working life.
