Fits Leuze IT 1452, IT 1902G, IT 3820, IT 4820 barcode scanners; replaces OEM part 50105384.
3.7V 2000mAh Li-ion cell delivers full power to laser or imager module and wireless radio during pick-and-pack shifts.
Connector slides straight into battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush against scanner housing.
We bench-tested this cell in an IT 1452 cradle — BMS accepted dock voltage immediately, no fault cycle needed.
After installation, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in the field; the scan trigger draws peak inrush current when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS shutdowns on first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Leuze IT 1452 / IT 3820 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (50105384)

This 3.7V 2000mAh Li-ion cell replaces OEM part 50105384 in Leuze handheld barcode scanners. It fits the IT 1452, IT 1902G, IT 3820, and IT 4820 models — all of which share the same voltage rail and connector footprint. Capacity is 2000mAh (7.4Wh), matching the original specification.

  • IT 1452, IT 1902G, IT 3820, IT 4820 compatibility: These four models share a common 3.7V single-cell architecture and the same BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger bursts and monitored the BMS under combined wireless polling and laser firing loads. Voltage held steady and the protection circuit did not trip during simulated pick-and-pack duty.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and let it complete a full charge cycle before starting work. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged pack on the first shift prevents the BMS from cutting out under that initial load spike.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Charging docks on the IT series read pack state through a set of contact pins on the battery's base. If those contacts are oxidised or carry residue from shipping, the dock registers a handshake fault and stops charging. Wipe the battery contacts and the dock contacts with a dry cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. The error clears immediately once contact resistance drops below the dock's threshold — no reset or firmware step required.

Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The IT 3820 and IT 4820 draw from the same cell for both the wireless radio and the scan trigger simultaneously. During rapid bursts, this combined inrush can sag cell voltage enough to momentarily starve the radio module, causing the connection to drop mid-session. This happens more often when the battery is below 30% charge. Keep the pack above that threshold during high-frequency scanning, or rotate to a freshly charged unit when the battery indicator reaches one bar.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Leuze IT 3820 stopped reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

The imager or laser in the IT series needs a minimum voltage to fire at full power. A new pack shipped in a partially discharged state can sit just below that threshold, so the scanner powers on but fails to read. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge it fully before use. Once the cell reaches 4.1–4.2V, the imager draws enough power to fire correctly and reads should resume immediately.

The scanner feels noticeably warm after a long shift — is that a problem with the battery?

Sustained scanning plus constant wireless polling generates continuous draw on a 2000mAh single cell inside a compact housing with limited airflow. Some warmth is normal. If the housing is too hot to hold comfortably, the BMS may be working against a marginal connection or the cell is being pushed near its discharge floor repeatedly. Check that the battery is seated fully and that contacts are clean, then rotate to a second pack mid-shift to reduce sustained load on one cell.

This new battery doesn't seem to last as long as the original did when it was new — what shortens it?

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval are the two biggest draws on the IT series, and both run simultaneously. If the scanner is set to continuous wireless polling on a busy network, background radio traffic alone accounts for significant capacity consumption independent of scanning. Check the polling interval in the scanner's configuration utility and set it to match your network's actual update rate — dropping from continuous to 500ms polling extends usable charge per shift without affecting scan response.
