Fits Keyence HR-100 handheld barcode scanner, replaces OEM part 50121527-005 and HR-B1.
3.7V, 2000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 7.4Wh to sustain continuous scan cycles during warehouse shifts.
Slides into scanner battery slot with single locking tab; connector orientation marked on pack contacts.
Bench testing showed clean BMS initialization on first dock charge; no fault codes on rapid scan bursts.
On first use, place scanner in cradle for a full charge cycle before high-frequency scanning — the scan trigger draws peak inrush current when cells are near minimum and a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips during pick-and-pack operations.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Keyence HR-100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (50121527-005)

This 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell is a direct replacement for the Keyence HR-100 handheld barcode scanner. It fits the HR-100 using OEM part references 50121527-005 and HR-B1. The HR-100 is a portable data collection scanner used in warehousing, retail, and logistics environments where multi-shift use is common.

  • HR-100 platform fit: The HR-100 uses a 3.7V single-cell Li-ion pack with a BMS that monitors cell voltage and temperature. This replacement matches the OEM connector pinout and BMS communication protocol so the scanner's battery indicator reports correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless radio draw sequences. The BMS held cutoff thresholds within spec and the cell voltage recovered cleanly to 4.2V at full charge with no false protection trips.
  • First-install charging on the HR-100: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and complete a full charge cycle before starting a pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell sits near minimum voltage — starting fully charged prevents the BMS from tripping on the first heavy scan burst.

Cradle showing a charging error on a freshly installed pack

The HR-100 cradle reads battery state through the dock contacts on the pack's base. If those contacts have oxidation or residue from handling, contact resistance rises above what the cradle's charge controller expects, and it throws a fault instead of starting a charge cycle. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat firmly. If the error clears and charging starts, the contacts were the cause — not a fault with the cell itself.

Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The HR-100 draws simultaneously from both the wireless radio and the scan engine during a fast burst sequence. If cell voltage sags below the radio module's minimum operating threshold during that combined inrush, the radio drops its connection before the BMS trips the battery entirely. This looks like a network or pairing fault but is actually a voltage sag event. Ensure the pack is charged to at least 3.9V before a high-frequency scanning session — a depleted cell cannot sustain the combined draw without sagging.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HR-100 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — scan trigger fires but nothing happens

The HR-100's scan engine needs stable voltage above a minimum threshold to power the imager. If the replacement pack shipped partially discharged, the cell voltage may be too low to sustain the imager even though the scanner powers on. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge fully — the cell needs to reach 4.2V before the imager draws reliably. Once charged, the scan trigger should fire and read normally.

The HR-100 cradle is flashing an error light instead of a solid charge indicator on the new pack

This is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a faulty cell. The cradle's charge controller measures pack voltage through the dock contacts — debris or finger oils on those contacts push resistance high enough to trigger a fault. Wipe the contacts on the bottom of the pack and inside the cradle slot with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and check whether the indicator switches to a steady charge light within 30 seconds.

The new battery doesn't last as long through a shift as I expected — the scanner dies before the old one did at the same point in the day

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling together draw significantly more than either load alone, and a new cell ships at partial charge — not full. Run one complete charge cycle in the cradle before drawing conclusions about shift endurance. If short endurance persists after a full charge, check whether the wireless polling interval in the HR-100's settings was changed, as tighter polling intervals shorten discharge considerably regardless of cell capacity.
