Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Leuze IT 1452 / IT 3820 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (50105384)
This 3.7V 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 50105384 in the Leuze IT 1452, IT 1902G, IT 3820, and IT 4820 handheld barcode scanners. These are mobile data terminals used in warehouse pick-and-pack, inventory scanning, and logistics operations. Dimensions are 99.40 × 20.80 × 21.40mm — verify against your original pack before installing.
- IT 1452, IT 1902G, IT 3820, IT 4820 compatibility: All four models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with the same connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol — one battery pack covers the full group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger bursts combined with active wireless polling. The BMS held voltage within spec during combined inrush events and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without latching.
- First-shift conditioning for IT-series scanners: After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before use. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum charge — a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips when the imager fires on the first shift.
Why the IT 1452 loses wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The IT-series scanners draw from the same cell for both the imager and the wireless radio simultaneously. During fast barcode sequences, the combined inrush can pull the cell voltage below the radio module's minimum operating threshold for a fraction of a second. The BMS reads this as an undervoltage event and briefly suspends output, dropping the wireless link before recovering. A cell at full charge holds voltage higher through these spikes — connection drops during scan bursts almost always point to a degraded or undercharged pack.
Cradle flashing a charging error on a brand-new pack
Charging dock errors on a new pack are usually a contact resistance problem, not a battery fault. The cradle's charging pins read cell voltage through the dock contacts — any oxidation or debris on the pack's contact pads raises resistance enough to confuse the dock's charge controller. Remove the pack, wipe all gold contact pads on the battery and cradle with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and check that the pack clicks into the dock retention clip. If the error clears within 30 seconds, the contacts were the cause — not the cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My IT 1452 stops reading barcodes within seconds of a battery swap — do I have a faulty pack?
Almost certainly not a faulty pack — the imager needs a minimum cell voltage to fire the laser or illuminate the sensor, and a new pack straight from packaging may sit at a storage charge of around 3.6V or lower. Place the scanner in the cradle and run a full charge cycle first. Once the cell reaches 4.1–4.2V, the imager will have enough voltage headroom to trigger cleanly on every scan.
The scanner runs warm after a long warehouse shift — is that normal or a sign the battery is failing?
Some warmth is normal — sustained scan bursts plus continuous wireless polling generate real heat inside a compact housing with no active cooling. Concern starts if the pack itself feels hot to the touch rather than the scanner body, or if the cradle refuses to charge a warm pack. Let the scanner rest in the open for 10 minutes after a heavy shift before docking. If warmth is coming from the pack rather than the chassis, check that the cradle contacts are clean and making full contact — high contact resistance forces the charger to work harder and generates additional heat at the cell terminals.
How do I know when this battery has genuinely reached end of life versus just needing a full charge cycle?
A degraded cell holds surface charge but collapses under load — the scanner will show a full indicator in the cradle but drop out or reboot mid-shift when the imager and radio draw simultaneously. Run the scanner through a full charge, then a complete active shift without cradle top-ups. If voltage sags enough to trigger a wireless disconnect or imager failure before the shift ends, the cell can no longer hold adequate voltage under combined load and needs replacing. A healthy 3400mAh pack at 3.7V nominal should sustain both loads without sag-related dropouts.
