Fits Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite and Mi 10 Lite 5G models; replaces OEM battery BM4R.
3.85V nominal, 3900mAh capacity delivers full charge cycles on this mid-range Android device.
Connector type is proprietary Xiaomi; battery slides into slot with keyed orientation — no locking tab.
We ran a full charge cycle on a test unit; BMS accepted the cell without fault codes or early shutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM4R)

The BM4R is a 3900mAh Li-Polymer cell at 3.85V nominal, built to replace the original battery in the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite, Mi 10 Lite 5G, and associated model variants including M2002J9S and M2002J9R. It fits the original battery bay without modification. Capacity is rated at 15.02Wh.

  • Mi 10 Lite and 5G variant compatibility: Both the standard Mi 10 Lite and the 5G variant (M2002J9R, M2002J9S) share the BM4R form factor and connector pinout. The BMS handshake on this cell matches the fuel gauge IC communication used across this model family — no software flags during boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a Mi 10 Lite unit through charge and discharge under screen-on and modem load. The BMS held within spec across cut-off thresholds. No overcurrent trips or thermal events were recorded during the test run.
  • First-cycle fast charge protocol: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before Xiaomi's proprietary high-current protocol begins pushing elevated current into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the Mi 10 Lite reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the Mi 10 Lite uses a coulomb counter that was calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve over hundreds of cycles. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual chemistry of the replacement. The IC keeps reporting against old data until it observes a full discharge-to-charge cycle on the new cell. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — one cycle is usually enough to resync the counter to within a few percentage points of accuracy.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% charge remaining

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity issue. Under high-draw loads — 5G modem activity, screen at full brightness, or GPS — the cell voltage drops sharply below the threshold the system considers safe, and the phone cuts power to protect the BMS. On a degraded original cell this happens because the cell can no longer sustain voltage under load at lower states of charge. After fitting the BM4R, if shutdowns persist at 20–30%, the fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell curve. Complete one full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to recalibrate — shutdowns should stop once the coulomb counter is tracking the new cell's voltage curve accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone powered on after the battery swap but percentage jumped from 43% straight to 11% — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC is still running its coulomb counter against the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage readings are unreliable until it recalibrates. This isn't a fault with the replacement cell. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge it to 100% in one uninterrupted session with fast charging disabled. After that single full cycle, the IC rewrites its reference curve and the percentage display stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the BM4R — the phone only charges slowly now?

Xiaomi's proprietary fast charge protocol negotiates with the BMS on the new cell during the first charge session, and on some units it defaults to standard 5W charging until that handshake completes cleanly. Unplug the cable, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect using the original Xiaomi charger — not a third-party USB-C adapter. If the phone still won't accept fast charge after one standard-rate full cycle, check that the USB-C port is fully seated and free of debris, then retry with the original charger.

Phone won't turn on at all after the BM4R sat in a drawer for a few months before installation?

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BM4R dropped below 2.5V per cell while sitting unused, the BMS will have entered a lockout state to prevent damage. Connect the phone to the original Xiaomi charger and leave it for at least 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC needs to push a trickle recovery current through the cell before the BMS will release the lockout. The phone should show a low-battery charging screen once voltage climbs back above approximately 3.0V.
