Fits Xiaomi Mi 9SE with OEM part number BM3M battery replacement.
3.85V, 2850mAh Li-Polymer cell restores full charge capacity on the Mi 9SE after degradation.
Connector slides into the original slot with flex cable orientation — no locking tab required.
We bench-tested the BMS against the Mi 9SE fuel gauge IC; the cell accepted standard charge current without early cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Mi 9SE — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM3M)

This is a 3.85V, 2850mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Xiaomi Mi 9SE smartphone. It carries OEM part number BM3M and fits directly into the Mi 9SE's battery bay. Install it when the original cell no longer holds charge through a full day of use.

  • Mi 9SE fit: The Mi 9SE uses a specific connector pinout and physical footprint — 71.32 x 58.90 x 4.25mm — that matches this cell exactly. The BMS communicates with Xiaomi's charge IC over the same data line as the factory cell, so the device recognises the battery on boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Mi 9SE charge IC and confirmed the BMS handshake completes on the first connection. The protection circuit triggers correctly at low-voltage cutoff and does not block the charge cycle under normal draw.
  • First-cycle calibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Why the Mi 9SE reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Mi 9SE uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that builds its charge model against the original cell's discharge curve over many cycles. When you swap in a new cell, that model no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the fresh cell. The IC reads voltage correctly but maps it to the wrong percentage point. One full discharge down to automatic shutdown — followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100% — forces the IC to reset its endpoints and rebuild an accurate model against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BM3M replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't finished recalibrating and the modem or display pulls a high-current burst at a voltage point the old model marked as safe. The new cell's internal resistance is slightly different from the worn cell's, so voltage sags further under load than the IC predicts. The protection circuit sees the voltage floor and cuts power before the display percentage reaches zero. Run one full calibration cycle first — discharge to shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 4.35V — and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mi 9SE won't power on at all after the BM3M battery sat in storage — is it dead?

The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during storage, which blocks normal boot entirely. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold first. Once the screen shows a charging indicator, the BMS has re-initialised and the phone will power on normally.

Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, Xiaomi's charge IC sometimes withholds the proprietary fast-charge handshake until it confirms the new BMS is stable. This is normal behaviour on the first connection. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — fast charging activates on the second cycle once the IC logs a completed charge event against the new cell.

The battery percentage on my Mi 9SE jumps erratically — it reads 45%, then skips to 62% a few minutes later.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration symptom, not a faulty cell. The coulomb counter still holds calibration data from the old cell and is mapping voltage readings to the wrong capacity points on the new one. Drain the phone fully until it shuts itself off, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100% without unplugging mid-way. That single complete cycle resets the IC's lower and upper endpoints and the jumping stops.
