Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Mi Mix Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM4C)
The BM4C is a 3.85V, 4000mAh (15.4Wh) Li-Polymer cell that fits the Xiaomi Mi Mix, Mi Mix Dual SIM, Mi Mix Exclusive, and Mi Mix Exclusive Gold Ceramic Edition. It replaces a degraded or failed original cell to restore full display, processor, and modem power. Dimensions are 76.74 × 72.10 × 4.46mm — confirm your original cell matches before installing.
- Mi Mix variant coverage: All listed Mi Mix variants share the same chassis footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits all four. The BM4C part number is the key identifier across every variant, including the Gold Ceramic Edition.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge cycles on Mi Mix hardware and confirmed BMS communication, charge IC acceptance, and voltage regulation across low-load and high-draw states. The cell held stable output under simultaneous display and modem load.
- First-cycle calibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Why the Mi Mix reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Mi Mix uses a coulomb counter in the fuel gauge IC that builds a discharge model from cycle history. When you swap the physical cell, that stored model no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve. The IC keeps reporting percentages based on the old cell's behaviour, so readings appear inflated or deflated by 10–20%. One full discharge down to automatic shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to rebuild its reference curve against the new cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to an aged cell with a shallow, flat discharge curve. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop under modem or screen load, so the actual cell voltage hits the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V — well before the reported percentage reaches zero. The phone cuts out because the cell voltage is genuinely too low, not because of a hardware fault. Run two full discharge-to-shutdown cycles without fast charging and the reported percentage will track the actual cell voltage correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Mi Mix won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
It is likely in BMS lockout. Li-Polymer cells that self-discharge below roughly 2.5V trigger a protection cutoff that blocks normal boot. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release and allow a normal boot. If the charging indicator appears, the cell is recovering; if nothing shows after 45 minutes, the cell discharged too deeply to recover.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting the BM4C — is something wrong with the charger?
Nothing is wrong with the charger. On the first charge cycle, the Mi Mix charge IC runs a handshake with the new BMS before accepting the high-current fast-charge profile. If that handshake times out or the fuel gauge IC flags an uncalibrated state, the phone drops to standard 5V charging as a precaution. Unplug, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect — the handshake resets. If fast charging still does not engage, complete one full standard charge to 100% first; the IC will accept the fast-charge protocol on the following cycle.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges after fitting the new cell — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth on the first two or three charges is normal with a new high-impedance cell. A fresh Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat until the cell's impedance settles. Warmth should reduce noticeably by the third full charge cycle. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, or warmth persists beyond five cycles, stop charging and check that the cell connector is fully seated — a partial connection forces the IC to compensate with higher current, generating excess heat.
