Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Redmi K50 Pro — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM5E)
This is a 3.87V, 4850mAh (18.77Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Xiaomi Redmi K50 Pro (model numbers 22021211RC and 22011211C). It replaces the original BM5E cell that powers the display, processor, modem, and all connectivity functions. Fit this battery when the original shows capacity fade, unexpected shutdowns, or swollen cell symptoms.
- Redmi K50 Pro platform compatibility: The 22021211RC and 22011211C variants share the same BM5E connector pinout, BMS handshake protocol, and voltage rail. One replacement cell covers both regional variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the K50 Pro board. The BMS accepted the cell, reported state-of-charge correctly after one full cycle, and the Xiaomi charge IC engaged without error codes.
- First-cycle fuel gauge recalibration: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter locks in its reference point. Skip this step and the percentage readout will drift for several days.
Why the K50 Pro reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The K50 Pro uses a coulomb counter that calibrates against the discharge curve of the original cell. When a new BM5E goes in, the fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's reference data. Until it completes one full discharge and charge cycle at a consistent rate, the percentage readout can read 10–15% high or low. One uninterrupted cycle from 100% down to auto-shutdown and back to full — at standard charge speed — resets the reference and brings the readout back in line.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. Under heavy modem or display load, a fresh cell that hasn't been calibrated can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold while the fuel gauge still reads 25%. The BMS reads real-time cell voltage — not percentage — and trips the cutoff to protect the cell. Run that first full calibration cycle, then check the shutdown threshold: if it persists below 3.4V under load, the cell voltage under peak draw is dropping faster than the fuel gauge tracks. Reduce screen brightness or background sync load during the next calibration cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The K50 Pro won't turn on at all after the new BM5E sat in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?
Not necessarily. Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BM5E dropped below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks normal boot. Plug into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout. If the charging indicator appears after that window, the cell is recovering; let it charge to 100% before powering on.
Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On first contact with a new BM5E, Xiaomi's proprietary charge protocol re-negotiates with the battery BMS before allowing high-current charging. If the BMS hasn't completed its initial handshake — which requires the cell to sit at a stable voltage above 3.6V — the charge IC falls back to standard 5W input as a safety default. Complete one full standard-rate charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, fast charging re-enables automatically on the next plug-in.
Battery percentage is jumping around erratically — goes from 60% to 45% in minutes, then back up.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against an unfamiliar discharge curve. The coulomb counter accumulated error data from the old degraded cell and is now getting inconsistent readings from the new BM5E's different internal resistance profile. Run a single uninterrupted cycle: charge to 100% at standard speed, use the phone normally until it shuts itself down, then charge back to 100% without unplugging mid-cycle. After that cycle the fuel gauge resets its reference and the percentage readout stabilises.
