Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE Nubia Red Magic NX609J — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (Li3937T44P6h886639)
This is a 3.85V, 3700mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the ZTE Nubia Red Magic smartphone, including the Dual SIM and Dual SIM TD-LTE variants (NX609J). It replaces OEM part Li3937T44P6h886639. Fit covers the full NX609J platform — same cell footprint, same connector, same BMS handshake protocol.
- NX609J platform compatibility: The Red Magic, Red Magic Dual SIM, and TD-LTE share the same motherboard power rail at 3.85V nominal with an identical connector pinout and BMS communication line. One cell revision covers all three variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an NX609J board and confirmed the BMS completed charge handshake, accepted the full 3700mAh charge current ceiling, and passed voltage regulation checks at both the 4.35V charge cutoff and the 3.0V discharge floor.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first install, run one complete discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled. The Red Magic's fuel gauge IC holds a learned curve from the old cell — it needs a full slow cycle against the new cell's discharge profile before its coulomb counter reads accurately.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a freshly installed Red Magic cell
The NX609J's Snapdragon 835 pulls hard when the modem hits a busy band or the GPU ramps during gameplay. A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC can report 25% remaining while actual resting voltage has already dipped toward 3.5V under that load. The BMS reads a real undervoltage event and cuts output before the OS can log a low-battery warning. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard charge speed resets the coulomb counter and removes the mismatch.
USB fast charge not activating after cell replacement
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the Red Magic may not complete the handshake required to unlock higher current delivery. The new cell presents a higher impedance than a worn cell, which can cause the charge IC to stay in trickle mode as a precaution. Plug in via the original cable and charger, leave it undisturbed through a full charge, then disconnect and reconnect — the IC re-negotiates the charge profile on the second connection. Confirm fast charge is active by checking the charging indicator in the notification bar or Settings → Battery.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Red Magic shuts off at around 25% after putting in a new battery — is the cell defective?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the NX609J is still running the learned discharge curve from the old worn cell, so it misjudges how much voltage remains when the processor or modem draws a spike. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutoff, then charge slowly to 100% with fast charging turned off in settings — this forces the coulomb counter to rebuild its curve against the actual new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at 25% should stop.
The battery percentage on my Red Magic is jumping around erratically — it was at 60%, then jumped to 40%, then back to 55%.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating after a cell swap. The coulomb counter lost its reference point when the old cell was removed, and it is now estimating state-of-charge against an incomplete data set. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles at standard (non-fast) charge speed. By the second cycle, the IC has enough real discharge data to anchor its percentage readings and the erratic jumps settle out.
My Red Magic won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation.
A Li-Polymer cell that self-discharges below roughly 2.5V in storage triggers a BMS lockout — the protection circuit opens and blocks current to prevent damage. Plug the phone into its original charger and leave it connected for at least 30–45 minutes before attempting to power on; the charge IC delivers a low trickle current that slowly recovers cell voltage above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage climbs above 3.0V, the BMS resets and normal charging resumes — the phone should power on from there.
