Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE WP826 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (Ni3612T30P3S534416)
This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH battery for ZTE cordless handsets using part number Ni3612T30P3S534416. It fits the WP826, WP822, WP833, and WP612, among others. All share the same voltage rail, connector, and charge-acceptance profile from the base station.
- WP826 / WP822 / WP833 / WP612 platform fit: These handsets run the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH circuit with a shared connector pinout. The base station charges via the same contact arrangement across all models, so one pack covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on WP826 hardware. The BMS accepted charge normally from the base station contacts, and the handset's charge indicator cleared without fault codes.
- First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state — a slow, uninterrupted first charge lets them reach rated 1200mAh capacity. Skipping this step causes the first few cycles to run short.
Base station charge light not activating on a fresh Ni-MH pack
ZTE base stations check the incoming cell voltage before starting a charge cycle. A new Ni-MH pack that has sat in storage can drop to 3.0V or below — low enough that the base interprets it as a fault rather than a depleted cell. The fix is to briefly power the handset on and off, which draws just enough current to shift the BMS out of its low-voltage hold state. After that, reseat the handset firmly in the base — the charge contact must make clean connection on all three pins for the indicator to activate.
Talk time noticeably shorter than the original battery for the first few uses
Ni-MH cells don't deliver full capacity straight out of the box. The electrodes need three to five complete charge-discharge cycles before the chemical structure stabilises and capacity reaches the rated 1200mAh. If talk time improves cycle by cycle, the pack is conditioning normally — not faulty. To accelerate this, use the handset until the low-battery alert sounds, return it to the base for a full uninterrupted charge, and repeat. By cycle five, capacity should be at or near the 4.32Wh rated figure.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ZTE WP826 battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the new pack defective?
A pack draining overnight in the base usually means the handset isn't making proper contact with the charging pins, not a faulty cell. Ni-MH cells at 3.6V need firm, clean contact across all three base pins to receive standby trickle current. Remove the handset, wipe the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat it with a firm press until you hear or feel it click into position. Check that the charge indicator lights up within 30 seconds of reseating.
The ZTE handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?
Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset's DECT memory, and some ZTE models drop their base registration when that happens. This is a firmware behaviour, not a battery fault. To re-register, hold the handset's page or find button until the base unit beeps, then follow the pairing sequence in the handset menu under "Register Handset." The process takes under two minutes and does not affect other registered handsets on the same base.
My WP826 handset shows reduced range after fitting the replacement battery — what causes that?
Range drop after a battery swap is almost always a voltage-sag issue during the RF transmit burst. The WP826 DECT radio draws a short high-current pulse each time it transmits, and an undercharged or not-yet-conditioned Ni-MH cell sags below the voltage threshold the transmitter needs to maintain full power. Complete the 16-hour initial charge first, then run two to three full conditioning cycles. If range is still short after cycle three, check the cell resting voltage with a multimeter — it should read at least 3.6V fully charged; below 3.4V at rest indicates a cell that won't recover.
