Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Welch-Allyn Connex 6000 Vital Signs Monitor — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BATT69 / BATT99)
This 11.1V, 7800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Welch-Allyn Connex 6000 Vital Signs Monitor and Connex Spot Vital Signs 7100 and 7300 series. It fits the same bay, uses the same connector, and communicates with the device BMS over the same data line. Capacity is sourced from the product specification — 86.58Wh total energy.
- Connex 6000 and Connex Spot platform fit: These models share a common battery bay format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell spec covers the full range because the charge IC and communication bus are identical across the Connex Spot 7100, 7300, and 6000 platform variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Connex charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack, completed state-of-charge initialisation, and reported accurate charge level on the device display. No fault codes were triggered during the test sequence.
- Post-installation self-test procedure: After fitting this battery, allow the monitor to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The Connex BMS runs a verification pass at startup — cutting power mid-sequence logs a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Connex 6000 not completing boot sequence on a new battery
The Connex 6000 BMS checks cell voltage and internal resistance during the POST cycle. A new cell that has partially self-discharged during storage can read below the BMS acceptance threshold, causing the boot sequence to stall or abort. This is not a faulty battery — it is the BMS rejecting a pack it cannot yet profile. Connect the monitor to mains power first, allow a full charge cycle to complete, then attempt a cold boot from battery alone.
Charge indicator stuck below 100% after the first full charge
On the first charge cycle, the Connex charge IC applies a conservative current limit to a new cell it has not yet profiled. This causes the charge indicator to plateau at 90–95% and stop climbing. The battery is not defective — the charge IC has simply not completed its calibration pass. Run one full charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle and the indicator will reach 100% from the second charge onward.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Connex 6000 is alarming low battery immediately after I fitted a fully charged replacement — why?
The Connex BMS sets its low-battery alarm threshold against a chemistry profile built from previous cycle data. On a brand-new cell, that profile does not exist yet, so the BMS flags low battery even when the pack is at full charge. This clears after one complete charge-discharge cycle, which gives the BMS enough data to recalibrate its threshold. Run the monitor on battery until it powers down, then charge fully before returning it to use.
The Connex monitor shuts off mid-use unexpectedly — is the new battery faulty?
New Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance for the first 8–10 cycles. The Connex 6000 draws a variable load during BP inflation, SpO2 acquisition, and printing — these short peaks push current demand high enough that a new cell voltage sags below the BMS cutoff, triggering an unexpected shutdown. This is not a defective cell. Each subsequent cycle reduces internal resistance and the shutdowns stop. Confirm by measuring resting voltage after shutdown — it should read above 10.0V if the pack is healthy.
The device powered off during storage and will not turn on now, even on a new battery that worked before fitting it.
A cell left in a discharged monitor self-discharges over weeks until it drops below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or roughly 7.5V across an 11.1V pack. Below that level, the BMS locks the pack out as a protection measure and the device will not power on from battery alone. Connect the monitor to mains AC and leave it charging for at least two hours before attempting to boot. If the BMS recovers the cell above threshold, the device will start normally and complete a fresh charge cycle.
