Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mindray VS800 / WATO EX-20 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LI23S001A)
This 11.1V 6400mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Mindray VS800 and WATO EX-20 series vital signs monitors. It fits the connector and bay dimensions of the VS800 chassis and matches the voltage rail the BMS expects at handshake. Capacity is 6400mAh (71.04Wh) — sourced from product data, not estimated.
- VS800 and WATO EX-20 platform fit: These monitors share the same battery bay geometry, 11.1V nominal rail, and BMS communication protocol. One cell pack covers both platforms without adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on VS800 hardware. The BMS completed cell authentication, accepted the charge profile without fault flags, and held voltage within spec under the monitor's ECG and SpO2 simultaneous load.
- Post-swap self-test handling: After installing this battery, let the VS800 complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The device runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-sequence writes a battery fault to memory that persists until the next clean reboot.
VS800 low-battery alarm firing immediately after a confirmed full charge
The VS800's charge IC applies a conservative acceptance threshold when it first sees a new cell. If the internal cell voltage hasn't settled after initial charge, the BMS reads capacity below its alarm trigger — typically below 10.5V resting — and fires the alert even though the pack is physically full. This is a calibration gap, not a defective cell. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle through the monitor before treating any low-battery alarm as valid. After that cycle, the BMS learns the actual cell profile and alarm thresholds normalise.
VS800 failing to complete boot sequence after battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack voltage drops below approximately 9V, the VS800's BMS enters deep-discharge protection and blocks normal startup — the device either shows a blank screen or halts mid-boot. Connect the monitor to AC mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of four hours before attempting to boot on battery alone. Once the cell recovers above the BMS recovery threshold, the boot sequence completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
The VS800 is alarming low battery right after I installed a new fully charged pack — what's happening?
The VS800's BMS sets its alarm threshold based on the OEM cell's resting voltage signature, and a new cell reads slightly different until it completes one full cycle. The monitor is triggering on a calibration mismatch, not an actual low charge. Run the pack through one complete charge-discharge cycle on the monitor before treating the alarm as real. After that cycle, the BMS accepts the cell's profile and the alarm clears.
The charge indicator on the VS800 won't reach 100% on the first charge — is the pack faulty?
No. The VS800's charge IC applies a conservative upper current limit the first time it sees a new cell, which means the charge curve runs longer and the indicator stalls below 100% before the IC is confident in the cell's capacity. This is normal behaviour on first charge. Leave the monitor connected to AC until the indicator completes — it will reach 100% once the IC finishes its acceptance pass. Subsequent charges complete at the normal rate.
The VS800 shuts off unexpectedly during patient monitoring even though the battery showed adequate charge — what causes this?
New Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance in the first 10 cycles, which causes voltage to sag sharply under the combined load of ECG, SpO2, and display backlight running simultaneously. The BMS interprets that sag as a dangerously low cell and triggers an emergency cutoff to protect the cell — even if the state-of-charge indicator looked fine. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles before relying on this battery in a clinical monitoring session. After the break-in cycles, internal resistance drops and the voltage holds stable under full device load.
