Fits Doro Matra Look 300 handset and replaces OEM part PT6MXJ.
3.6V, 1500mAh Ni-MH battery delivers rated capacity for full cordless range and talk time on this DECT handset platform.
Connector slides vertically into handset battery compartment with single-pin contact orientation and positive terminal upward.
We bench-tested this cell on a Matra Look 300 base unit — NiMH BMS accepted charge immediately, voltage settled at 3.6V nominal under standby load.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Doro Matra Look 300 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (PT6MXJ)

This is a 3.6V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Doro Matra Look 300 cordless phone handset. It replaces OEM part PT6MXJ and fits directly into the handset battery compartment. Voltage, connector, and cell dimensions match the original specification.

  • Matra Look 300 fit: The Matra Look 300 handset uses a 3.6V Ni-MH pack with a specific cell arrangement and connector orientation. This battery matches that layout, so the BMS in the base station reads the charge state correctly without triggering a fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a cordless phone test rig. The BMS accepted the battery from the first dock, and cell voltage held within the base station's acceptance window throughout the charge cycle.
  • First charge on Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before using it. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step cuts into what the battery can actually deliver.

Talk time shorter than expected on a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH cells don't ship at full capacity — they need three to five full charge and discharge cycles to reach rated output. On the Matra Look 300, the base station applies a trickle charge, so the first few cycles run at low current. By cycle four or five, the cells have been properly conditioned and talk time increases noticeably. Don't judge the battery on the first charge.

Base station shows no charge light or error after fitting new battery

Ni-MH packs lose voltage during storage, and some base stations reject a pack that arrives below their acceptance threshold — typically around 3.2V or lower. If the charge indicator doesn't light up after docking, remove the handset, wait ten seconds, and re-seat it firmly. If the base still shows no activity, the pack voltage may need a short external boost charge to bring it above the threshold before the base takes over.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Matra Look 300 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing registration when power is fully removed from the handset, which happens during a battery swap. The Matra Look 300 stores pairing data in the handset, and a complete power loss can clear it. Re-register the handset through the base station's registration mode — typically by holding the registration button on the base for five seconds until the base enters pairing mode, then following the handset prompts.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset contacts aren't making a clean connection with the base cradle, the base stops charging and the handset runs on battery in standby. Check that the handset clicks fully into the cradle and that the charge contacts on both the handset and base are clean. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth and re-seat the handset — the charge indicator should light within a few seconds of correct contact.

The Matra Look 300 drops calls or loses range near the edges of the house — could the new battery be causing this?

Yes — low Ni-MH voltage under RF load causes transmit power to sag, which reduces effective range. This is most common in the first few cycles before the cells are conditioned. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles to bring the pack to rated capacity. If range is still short after conditioning, check the handset contacts and confirm the battery voltage reads at or above 3.6V with a multimeter when fully charged.
