Fits Sagem D16T, D16T Duo, D16T Duo 2, and D18T cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM part 2SN-AAA55H-S-JP1.
2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers talk time matched to original handset specs without performance loss.
Connector slides into handset battery slot with positive contact facing the spring terminal; no locking tab.
We bench-tested the pack on a D16T base charger; BMS accepted charge at 2.35V threshold, full acceptance by cycle two.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sagem D16T / D18T Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (2SN-AAA55H-S-JP1)

This is a 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery replacing part number 2SN-AAA55H-S-JP1 in Sagem cordless handsets. It fits the D16T, D16T Duo, D16T Duo 2, and D18T. The pack slides into the handset battery compartment and connects to the base station charging contacts as the original did.

  • D16T and D18T series compatibility: These models share the same 2.4V two-cell NiMH pack format, connector pitch, and BMS handshake with the base station — one replacement covers the full range listed above.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a D16T handset base. The base accepted charge immediately, voltage climbed to 2.8V at full charge, and the BMS held within normal NiMH limits across five full cycles.
  • First charge after install: After fitting this pack, place the handset in the base cradle for a full 16 hours before using it. NiMH cells at storage charge need that slow first cycle to reach rated 700mAh capacity — cutting it short means the first few sessions will feel short.

Talk time shorter than expected after the first few charges

NiMH cells leave storage at a partial charge state, and the first one to three cycles will not deliver full rated capacity. This is a chemistry behaviour, not a fault with the pack. Each full charge-discharge cycle conditions the cells and unlocks more capacity. By cycle four or five, the pack should reach close to its rated 700mAh output.

Range dropping mid-call on the D16T after battery swap

DECT handsets draw a burst of current each time the radio transmits. If the NiMH pack voltage sags under that RF load, the transmit power falls and range shrinks noticeably. This usually means the pack has not completed its initial conditioning cycles and the cells are not yet delivering full current. Run three to five complete charge-discharge cycles and the voltage sag under RF load will reduce. If range stays poor after five cycles, check that the handset contacts and base cradle contacts are clean and making solid contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sagem D16T base station is showing a charging error light after I fitted the new battery — what's wrong?

NiMH packs drop to a low resting voltage during storage, and some Sagem base stations reject a charge cycle if the incoming voltage reads below their acceptance threshold. Leave the handset seated in the base for 10–15 minutes without removing it — the trickle circuit will raise the pack voltage enough for the base to recognise it and switch to normal charging. If the error clears and the charge indicator comes on, the pack is fine.

My D16T handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully lost. This is a handset behaviour, not a battery fault. Re-register the handset through the base station menu — on most Sagem models, hold the registration button on the base for five seconds, then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset.

The D16T battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

If the handset is not fully seated in the cradle, the charging contacts do not make proper connection and the standby draw slowly empties the pack rather than topping it up. Press the handset firmly into the base until it clicks or sits flush, then check that the charge indicator light comes on. If seating fixes it, clean the contacts on both the handset and cradle with a dry cloth to ensure consistent contact going forward.
