Fits Philips DECT 211, DECT 215, DECT 216 and 25+ compatible models; replaces OEM part numbers 2HR-AAAU, H-AAA600X2, 60AAAH2BMX.
2.4V Ni-MH pack delivers 700mAh capacity; restores talk time and standby hold on handsets that lost charge retention from age.
AA-style cylindrical pack slides into the handset battery compartment with no locking tab; connector orientation is fixed by housing geometry.
We tested full discharge cycles on bench; BMS-less Ni-MH chemistry accepted baseline charge voltage without fault indicators on the base station.
Place the handset in the charging base for a full 16-hour initial charge before first call — NiMH cells need slow conditioning to reach rated 700mAh capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips DECT 211 / DECT 215 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (2HR-AAAU)

This is a 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Philips DECT 211 cordless phone handset and compatible DECT 215, DECT 215 Trio, and DECT 216 models. It fits inside the handset battery compartment and recharges through the standard base station cradle. OEM part numbers covered include 2HR-AAAU, H-AAA600X2, and 60AAAH2BMX.

  • DECT 211 / 215 series compatibility: These handsets share the same 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH battery format and identical compartment dimensions (45.00 × 20.50 × 10.50mm), so one battery fits across the range without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset platform. The cells accepted a full charge from the base station cradle without triggering any charging fault, and voltage held steady through both talk and standby draw.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless handsets: After installing the battery, place the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells arrive partially discharged from storage and need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step is the most common cause of short talk time complaints on new batteries.

Range dropping after a battery swap on DECT 211 handsets

DECT handsets regulate transmit power based on available voltage. When a fresh Ni-MH pack hasn't completed its first full conditioning cycle, cell voltage sags faster under the RF transmit load than it would at rated capacity. The radio backs off power to compensate, which shortens usable range noticeably. Running three to five full charge-discharge cycles through the base station brings the cells to full capacity and resolves the voltage sag.

Base station showing no charge or error light after battery replacement

Ni-MH batteries stored for extended periods can drop below the voltage threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid pack is seated — typically below 2.0V for a two-cell pack. When voltage is that low, some base stations refuse to initiate the charge cycle and show an error or no indicator at all. A brief charge from a compatible external NiMH charger at a low rate (around 70mA) for 15–20 minutes is usually enough to bring the pack above the acceptance threshold, after which the base station will take over and charge normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time is way shorter than the original battery — is the new one faulty?

Not likely. Ni-MH cells leave storage partially discharged and don't reach rated capacity until they've been through three to five full charge-discharge cycles in the handset. After each full overnight charge and full discharge cycle, talk time increases noticeably. If talk time is still short after five full cycles, check that the handset is seating fully in the cradle so the charge contacts are making clean contact.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some Philips DECT handsets store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed — which happens during a battery swap. Re-registering the handset to the base takes about 30 seconds. On most DECT 211 and 215 models, press and hold the registration button on the base until the handset finds it, then confirm the PIN (default is usually 0000). Check the handset manual for the exact registration button location if the above doesn't match your unit.

The handset is dead by morning even though I left it in the base overnight — why is it draining so fast?

This is a standby draw issue, not a charging fault. If the handset isn't fully seated in the cradle, the charge contacts don't make reliable contact and the handset runs on battery all night instead of staying topped up. Check that the cradle contacts and the handset charge pins are clean — oxidation on either surface breaks the circuit. Wipe both contact points with a dry cloth, reseat the handset firmly, and confirm the charge indicator light comes on within a few seconds of placing it in the base.
